The Week Republicans Woke Up To The Reality Of Obamacare Repeal

But while Republicans have voted to repeal Obamacare dozens of times
before, this time is very different. There is no President Barack Obama
to veto their efforts, no Democratic Senate to stop them. And, for the
first time since the ACA was passed in 2010, the stark reality of what
is at stake – 20 million people who have insurance because of Obamacare–
    seems to have sunk in.

"There's a lot of people I think who said they wanted to do it when
they knew that it wouldn't happen and now that there's a real potential,
obviously with the House and the Senate and the President and
reconciliation, there is a little more concern with how it's done," said
Rep. Scott Perry (R-CA). "Some people when ... they didn't think it
meant anything, it was easy and they didn't think about the fact that it
actually could happen and that's unfortunate."

Having people in hospital beds is not really a good indicator of how "good" or "bad" our healthcare system is. Actual health is a much more reasonable barometer.

That being said if people are getting hospital beds thanks to obamacare it is because they either had a heart attack when they saw their monthly premiums and super duper high deductibles or they are now homeless due to high health insurance premium but have this insurance policy that they have learned to scam so they have a place to stay instead of sleeping on the sidewalk.

Side note - TonyM you are living proof that you just can't fix stupid.

Trump vows ‘insurance for everybody’ in Obamacare replacement plan

President-elect Donald Trump said in a weekend interview that he is
nearing completion of a plan to replace President Obama’s signature
health-care law with the goal of “insurance for everybody,” while also
vowing to force drug companies to negotiate directly with the government
on prices in Medicare and Medicaid. ***

Trump said his plan for replacing most aspects of Obama’s health-care
law is all but finished. Although he was coy about its details — “lower
numbers, much lower deductibles” — he said he is ready to unveil it
alongside Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Spicer, repeatedly this morning, walking Trump's healthcare comments closer to GOP orthodoxy/Hill proposals ... and away from health insurance for everybody.

Remember, we aren't supposed to take Trump's words literally.

Donald Trump may have just destroyed the Republican effort to repeal Obamacare

But now it’s not looking so simple. In fact, Trump just dealt a huge blow to their top priority: repealing
the Affordable Care Act. Accomplishing repeal without causing the GOP a
political calamity is an extremely delicate enterprise, and the last
thing they want is to have him popping off at the mouth and promising
things they can’t deliver. Which is what he just did:

President-elect Donald Trump said in a weekend interview that he is nearing completion
of a plan to replace President Obama’s signature health-care law with
the goal of “insurance for everybody,” while also vowing to force drug
companies to negotiate directly with the government on prices in
    Medicare and Medicaid …

Donald Trump’s pick for health secretary is in hot water over trades in health care stocks --

First came The Wall Street Journal,
which reported just before Christmas that Representative Tom Price of
Georgia, the president-elect’s pick for secretary of health and human
services, had traded more than $300,000 in health care stocks over four
years while advocating or sponsoring legislation that could have
    increased their value.

Then The New York Times followed
with word that Mr. Price, Representative Chris Collins of New York, and
a handful of other insiders had been offered a sweetheart deal on
stocks for a tiny Australian company that then quintupled in value.

    On Monday, CNN weighed in
with a story that revealed that Mr. Price had purchased shares in a
medical device company just a week before introducing legislation to
delay regulations that could significantly harm the firm.

No accusers of Rep. Price in Congress are innocent since ALL members of Congress are exempt from insider trading laws.

Pressure mounts on GOP for post-Obamacare plan following CBO report

Trump waded into the fray over the weekend when he declared that his
own replacement plan is nearly complete — touting the goal of “insurance for everybody
and promising “much lower deductibles” for consumers. That
pronouncement appeared to come with little consultation with
congressional Republicans, and it conflicted directly with plans laid
out by Trump’s advisers, including Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), his nominee
for secretary of health and human services.

On Wednesday, the battleground moves to the Senate, where members of the
Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee will question Price
    about the U.S. health-care system.

Republicans on Capitol Hill think Trump entirely made up the "health care plan" he described to WaPo:
