    The GOP has officially hit the ‘buyer’s remorse’ stage on Obamacare repeal

    Politics can sometimes resemble a smoldering pile of broken promises.
    And the GOP's long-standing pledge to repeal Obamacare on Day One of a
    GOP administration is suddenly looking like it might be thrown on the
    heap.

    Over the last week, 10 Republican senators have voiced
    concerns about the GOP's plans to repeal the law immediately before a
    replacement can be crafted, and they're now being joined by a group of
    very conservative House Republicans.

    Trump Pushes Republicans for Immediate Repeal of Obama Health Law

    President-elect Donald J. Trump pressed Republicans on Tuesday to move forward with the immediate
    repeal of the Affordable Care Act and to replace it very quickly
    thereafter, saying, “We have to get to business. Obamacare has been a
    catastrophic event.”

    It's about time.

    It's also going to be interesting to watch the intellectual elites argue against an honest look at vaccines.

    Key GOP Chair Unveils Most Detailed Plan Yet To Repeal And Replace O'Care

    Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN), who has long advocated for a "simultaneous" approach to scrapping and replacing the Affordable Care
    Act, said that Republicans should be focused on repairing Obamacare's
    exchanges while building a new system to deliver health care to the
    American people.

    It's still unclear whether Alexander's plan has the blessing of leadership, nor is
    it clear whether the GOP will follow through with it ultimately, but
    Alexander's speech gives real insight into how a powerful and respected
    Republican chairman is trying to get his party to think about repealing
    and replacing Obamacare and what he thinks Republicans should be doing
    to build their own system.

    Trump: We are going to have a health care that is far less expensive and far better.

    Trump: It will be repeal and replace. will be essentially simultaneous.

    The Obamacare repeal has begun

    WASHINGTON — The US Senate on Thursday took a first concrete step
    toward dismantling Obamacare, voting to instruct key
    committees to draft legislation repealing President Barack
    Obama's signature health-insurance program.

    The vote was 51-48. The resolution now goes to the House of
    Representatives, which is expected to vote on it this week.
    Scrapping Obamacare is a top priority for the
    Republican majorities in both chambers and Republican
    President-elect Donald Trump.

    The final vote, which ended just before 1:30 a.m., followed votes on
    numerous amendments. Senate Republicans voted against amendments that
    would:

    1. Allow young people up to 26 to stay on insurance;
    2. Lower prescription drug cost by allowing importation of pharmaceuticals from Canada;
    3. Guarantee that women do not pay more for insurance than men because of their gender;
    4. Guarantee that rural hospitals will stay open;
    5. Guarantee that those with pre-existing conditions will not be charged more and will be protected.
