A Great Portent Appeared in the Sky, A Woman Clothed With the Sun

"And God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years…" (Gn 1:14)


"Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, voices, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.

And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child and she cried out in her pangs of birth, in anguish for delivery. And another portent appeared in heaven; behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems upon his heads. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, that he might devour her child when she brought it forth; she brought forth a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which to be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days." (Rv. 11:19-12:6)

"And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man child. And there were given to the woman two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the desert, unto her place, where she is nourished for a time and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth, after the woman, water, as it were a river: that he might cause her to be carried away by the river. And the earth helped the woman: and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth." (Rv. 12:13-16)

(NB: the Greek word eremos (which means 'wilderness' or 'desert') was used in both instances above, but the translator chose to use 'wilderness' in one place and 'desert' in another.)



As indicated above, God uses elements of the cosmos as signs or portents to alert mankind. This writing will address briefly a recent unusual astronomical occurrence and another even more unusual one to be realized soon, which we submit are significant signs from God.

In the writing, Warning Watch - 2017 we addressed the foretold Warning, Great Miracle and Chastisement foretold by several contemporary prophets (yet-to-be-approved), most notably by Our Lady in her alleged apparitions to the four little visionaries of Garabandal. It should be read in conjunction with this writing. It is available at:

Therein we identified the following "dates of interest":

Probable occurrence of the Warning: February 1, 2017 - February 5, 2017
Probable occurrence of the Miracle: April 13, 2017
Probable occurrence of the Comet of Chastisement and the end of the Tribulation: 3 ½ years after the Antichrist declares himself.

(NB: The declaration of the Antichrist should occur not too long after the Warning and is one of the signs to flee to the refuges. Also, Jesus stated that He would shorten the time of the Tribulation by causing the earth to spin faster.)

Additionally, we mentioned the prophecy of Conchita (one of the visionaries of Garabandal) in that "the Warning would occur when things were at their worst". Accordingly, if indeed the Warning is to be realized soon as discussed in the above mentioned writing, one would expect the world to be on the brink of major unfavorable events.

To be sure, for many years Jesus and His Mother have been warning us of the forthcoming Great Tribulation and of God's justice if we fail to repent, timely. We have written extensively on the evil state of the world, including without limitation: human fetal abortion, increased Christian persecution, the growing Masonic attempt to control the world, geopolitical strife throughout the world, the threat of thermonuclear warfare unlike any time in history, the precarious state of the world economy, episodes of terrorism on a global scale, the growing state of apostasy within the world (including the Church), the increase in demonic activity manifested within the cinema, music and popular culture, the "legitimization" of various forms of sexual perversion, increases in natural disasters, and more.

Would we not expect signs in the sky from Our Heavenly Father, when the great trial of the Tribulation is about to begin?

We are reminded of Jesus' alleged words to St. Faustina Kowalska: "Write this: before I come as the just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day." [Some believe this to occur with the forthcoming Warning.](1)

Some time thereafter, Jesus told St. Faustina: "Write this for the benefit of distressed souls: When a soul sees and realizes the gravity of its sins, when the whole abyss of the misery into which it immersed itself is displayed before its eyes, let it not despair, but with trust let it throw itself into the arms of My mercy, as a child into the arms of its beloved mother. These souls have a aright of priority to My compassionate Heart, they have first access to My mercy. Tell them that no soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness. …"(2)

Indeed, God will forgive our sins up until our last breath, but at some point in time, the realization of His Justice in the foretold Chastisement will occur.

On Nov. 14, 2016, the moon on its elliptical path ventured the closet to earth that it has been since 1948, producing an effect known as a "supermoon". The moon shone in the sky about 14% larger than normal and was about 30% brighter. We note also, that this occurred 6 days before the closing of the holy doors of the Great Jubilee Year of Mercy (Dec. 8, 2015 - Nov. 20, 2016).

In Warning Watch - 2017, we discussed also the 100 years of extended power granted to Satan as described in a vision of Pope St. Leo XIII; the forthcoming centenary of the Miracle of the Sun by Our Lady of Fatima (Oct. 13, 1917), which is to occur on Oct. 13, 2017; the great sign in the sky that will begin shortly before then and be present at such time (discussed in detail in the excerpted article below), and much more. We would encourage the reader to reread the writing at the links above for the detailed discussion. Having stated that, the reader is reminded of Our Lady's words to the alleged visionary, Locutions to the World(3), that Mankind is now entering a very dangerous time; that the 100th anniversary of Fatima is a signal moment; and that we are to keep our eyes on that date. Further, she stated that the time leading up to Oct. 13, 2017, will be decisive. By then, the world will see either great destruction or the great victory of the Woman Clothed With the Sun.

Apocalypse Now? Another Great Sign Rises in the Heavens

The Great Sign in Heaven

What if God gave us a sign, would we even notice it? What if God, like He has done before, gave us a heavenly sign, a portent of great and terrible events? Would we even take notice? Are we, like so many that have come before us, so busy in our day-to-day lives that we never bother to even look up anymore? What if God gave us a heavenly sign today, would we notice? And if we did notice, would we care or just ignore it as some superstitious nonsense?

What if I told you that there is a forthcoming astronomical event that closely mirrors a sign from the Book of Revelation, stunning in its precision, context, and timing? Would you look up?...

On November 20, 2016, an astronomical event begins that will last nine and a half months, culminating in startling concurrence with the vision of Revelation 12. While I am not an astronomer, all my research indicates that this astronomical event, in all its particulars, is unique in the history of man.

On November 20, 2016, Jupiter (the King planet) enters into the body (womb) of the constellation Virgo (the virgin). Jupiter, due its retrograde motion, will spend the next 9 ½ months within the womb of Virgo. This length of time corresponds with gestation period of a normal late-term baby.

After 9 ½ months, Jupiter exits out of the womb of Virgo. Upon Jupiter's exit (birth), on September 23, 2017, we see the constellation Virgo with the sun rise directly behind it (the woman clothed with the sun). At the feet of Virgo, we find the moon. And upon her head we find a crown of twelve stars, formed by the usual nine stars of the constellation Leo with the addition of the planets Mercury, Venus, and Mars.

That is a truly remarkable and, as far as I can determine, unique series of event with a startling degree of concurrence with the vision of Revelation 12.

So what does it mean, if anything? The obvious and truthful answer is that we simply do not know. That said, we are not entirely without possible context.

It just so happens that these events transpire during the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of "he woman clothed in the sun," Our Lady at Fatima in 1917. The culmination of these astronomical events occurs just 3 weeks before the 100th anniversary of the great miracle of Fatima, in which the sun "danced" (another heavenly sign), an event that was witnessed by many thousands.

In the almost century that has followed that great event, we have seen Our Lady's warnings come true with startling precision. People did not cease offending God and we have seen terrible wars, nations annihilated, and Russia spread her errors throughout the world and, if we are honest, even into the Church itself. And yet, we still await the fulfillment of her promises, the triumph of Her Immaculate Heart, and a period of peace to be granted to the world.

But what you may not know is that within the Fatima story itself, there are indications that a 100-year period might be significant. In August 1931, Sister Lucy was staying with a friend at Rianjo, Spain. There, Our Lord appeared to Sr. Lucy and He complained the requests of His mother had not been heeded saying, "Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary."

And again in another text, Sr. Lucy quoted Our Lord as saying, "They did not wish to heed My request! ... Like the King of France, they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors in the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer."

Those references to the King of France are very interesting for our discussion as this is an explicit reference to the requests of the Sacred Heart given through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque on June 17, 1689 to the King of France. King Louis XIV and his successors failed to heed Our Lord's request to publicly consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As a result, on June 17, 1789, one hundred years to the day after the request, the National Assembly of the French Revolution rose up and declared itself the government of France and stripped the king of his power. Later, the king lost his head to the revolution.

Now it is not possible to know the relevance of this 100-year allusion or to know if and when the clock may have started ticking, but it is certainly interesting and relevant in this context.

And of course, many are familiar with the vision of Pope Leo XIII in which he allegedly heard Satan granted one hundred years to try and destroy the Church. Immediately after this vision, Pope Leo XIII composed the prayer to St. Michael pleading with the Archangel to defend us in battle and be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. Pope Leo XIII then added the Leonine prayers to the end of the mass, later suppressed during Vatican II.

As we live through these tumultuous times in the Church, in which the very foundations of faith, even the very words and commands of Our Savior are diminished and ignored, it is impossible not to recall Pope Leo's vision.

Speaking of our current crisis, in this era of false mercy, I must also note that the date the astronomical event begins, November 20, 2016, is the very day that Pope Francis' declared "Year of Mercy" comes to an end. The very same day is the Feast of Christ the King. …"

Just to clarify what John saw and wrote about in Rev 12, was the Zodiac sign of Virgo (the virgin). The 12 stars represent the 12 signs of the zodiac. The location of the sun and moon indicates the new moon of the seventh month (Hebrew calendar). The birth is that of the Christ who is to rule the world with a rod of iron. So folks, if you want to know the day on which Jesus was born, this is it - Feast of Trumpets, Sept 11 3 BC.

The Dragon is the constellation Draco whose tail encompasses the north polar region. Between it and Virgo is Hercules who wars against Draco. Get a good star map and enjoy the signs!

Hercules of Tuatha De Dannan historically was Samson of the tribe of Dan as an aside.

All due respect Cub, the Latin Vulgate is NOT the Bible. The Scriptures were not written in Latin. They were primarily Hebrew and Greek. As I read several different English translation from the original languages I always check the concordances for clarification of any differences. If you were familiar with the Feasts of Yahweh there would be no question that Rev 12 is speaking of VIRGO, not Mary. It is an Astronomical reality which comes around Every Fall. It is stating the Birth of Messiah was the Feast of Trumpets which is the first day of the Seventh month of the Hebrew calendar.

"Christmas" was an invention for Jesus' birth. There was an event which did fell on 25th of December in 2 BC, 15 months after His birth. It was the arrival of the Magi (wise men) and they presented gifts to the child (no longer a baby) at his house (not a manger). That year, the first day of Hannakah fell on Dec 25.

Matt. 2,11 And entering into the house, they found the child with Mary his mother, and falling down they adored him: and opening their treasures, they offered him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

As long as people continue to worship idols and dead people regardless of saintliness, the Truth will be illusive at best.

There were many books considered. Many were rejected. Of those deemed canonical, some were written in Hebrew and some in Greek. There were a total of 73 canonical books….including all of those comprising the Septuagint from which Jesus Christ and His Apostles taught.

From the original texts and translated into Latin was THE first Bible….the Latin Vulgate. (a historical fact).

Now who determined which books were canonical and which were not? And by what authority? And how do we know that the Holy Bible, so defined, is truly the Word of God?

How We Know That Holy Scripture is Truly the Word of God

"Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'" (Cf. Mat 28:16-20)


Nowhere in Holy Scripture is there any evidence that God instructed man to write and compile the Holy Bible. In view of this, how can we be assured that the Bible is truly the Word of God, and not a mere fabrication of man?

Consider the following:

Jesus is God

Jesus is God. This is evidenced by the things that He said, that things that He did, and the fact that he arose from the dead.

The teachings of the Fathers, Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Church consistently declare that Jesus is true God and true man. Just as we have two natures in a body and a soul; Jesus has two natures, both God and man.

Jesus stated clearly that He is God in John 10:30, which reads: "The Father and I are one." In the first chapter of his Gospel, St. John declared that Jesus is God when he stated that the Word was God --- and the Word became flesh. In many places Holy Scripture attests to the fact that Jesus is the Son of God.(1)

Jesus Has the Authority of His Father

Jesus has the authority of His Father. Not only is it stated clearly within Holy Scripture, but it was evidenced by His many miracles. As we saw in the opening citation of St. Matthew's gospel, verse 18 reads: "And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.".

Consider a few of the many supporting citations from Holy Scripture, which follow:

"I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me. (Cf. Joh 5:30)

"For I have not spoken on my own authority; the Father who sent me has himself given me commandment what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has bidden me." (Cf. Joh 12:49-50)

"Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. ". (Cf Joh 14:10-11)

Jesus Transferred Certain of His Authority to the Pope as the Head of His Church

Jesus established His Church, and gave His authority on earth to the Pope as its head:

"He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church [n.b. one singular church], and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Cf. Mat 16:15-19)

Note: In the passage above, Jesus changed Simon Bar-Jona's name to 'Peter', meaning "rock". He gave charge (i.e. the keys) of His Church on Earth to Peter. The Bishop of Rome has always been the Pope, who is also the head of the Roman Catholic Church. Pope St. Peter was the first Bishop of Rome, and his tomb lies beneath the altar in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Italy.

In a number of places within Holy Scripture, we see that when persons received new names from God, it indicated an elevation in authority. It is worthy of emphasis that elsewhere within Holy Scripture, the use of the word 'rock' refers to Almighty God. Clearly, by changing Simon's name to Peter, Jesus not only elevated him in authority, but indicated that he had been given certain power of Almighty God on earth.(2)

With the Authority of Almighty God, the Pope Defined the Holy Bible Indicating the Books that Were the Inspired Word of God

The Pope, as the head of Jesus' Church and with the authority of Almighty God, defined the Bible in a decree:

THE DECREE OF POPE ST. DAMASUS I - 382 A.D.
(Incorporated into the Council of Rome)

It is likewise decreed: Now, indeed, we must treat of the divine Scriptures: what the universal Catholic Church accepts and what she must shun.

The list of the Old Testament begins: Genesis, one book; Exodus, one book: Leviticus, one book; Numbers, one book; Deuteronomy, one book; Jesus Nave, one book; of Judges, one book; Ruth, one book; of Kings, four books; Paralipomenon, two books; One Hundred and Fifty Psalms, one book; of Solomon, three books: Proverbs, one book; Ecclesiastes, one book; Canticle of Canticles, one book; likewise, Wisdom, one book; Ecclesiasticus (Sirach), one book; Likewise, the list of the Prophets: Isaiah, one book; Jeremias, one book; along with Cinoth, that is, his Lamentations; Ezechiel, one book; Daniel, one book; Osee, one book; Amos, one book; Micheas, one book; Joel, one book; Abdias, one book; Jonas, one book; Nahum, one book; Habacuc, one book; Sophonias, one book; Aggeus, one book; Zacharias, one book; Malachias, one book. Likewise, the list of the Scriptures of the New and Eternal Testament, which the holy and Catholic Church receives: of the Gospels, one book according to Matthew, one book according to Mark, one book according to Luke, one book according to John. The Epistles of the Apostle Paul, fourteen in number: one to the Romans, two to the Corinthians, one to the Ephesians, two to the Thessalonians, one to the Galatians, one to the Philippians, one to the Colossians, two to Timothy, one to Titus one to Philemon, one to the Hebrews. Likewise, one book of the Apocalypse of John. And the Acts of the Apostles, one book. Likewise, the canonical Epistles, seven in number: of the Apostle Peter, two Epistles; of the Apostle James, one Epistle; of the Apostle John, one Epistle; of the other John, a Presbyter, two Epistles; of the Apostle Jude the Zealot, one Epistle. Thus concludes the canon of the New Testament.

Likewise it is decreed: After the announcement of all of these prophetic and evangelic or as well as apostolic writings which we have listed above as Scriptures, on which, by the grace of God, the Catholic Church is founded, we have considered that it ought to be announced that although all the Catholic Churches spread abroad through the world comprise but one bridal chamber of Christ, nevertheless, the holy Roman Church has been placed at the forefront not by the conciliar decisions of other Churches, but has received the primacy by the evangelic voice of our Lord and Savior, who says: "You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it; and I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you shall have bound on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall have loosed on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Thus we see that: (a) Jesus is God, (b) Jesus has the authority of His Father, (c) Jesus transferred certain of His authority to the Pope as the head of His Church, and (d) with the authority of Almighty God, the Pope defined the Holy Bible indicating the books that were the inspired Word of God.

Therefore, the Holy Bible is truly the Word of God.

Additionally, Pope St. Damasus I gave St. Jerome charge to use this canon and to write a new Bible translation which included an Old Testament of 46 books, (all of which were all in the Septuagint from which Jesus taught), and a New Testament of 27 books. St. Jerome's translation is called the Latin Vulgate, and it is the official Holy Bible.
