Current solution is extortion for carbon credits ... no change in behaviors but a change in operating costs.

Real solutions, if there are any, will flat line profit margin ... and we all know this isn't gonna be allowed.

Best solution that I have heard is replacing the federal income tax with a carbon tax of about $20 / ton. It would be levied on those who produce coal or petroleum products. It of course would be passed on, but would encourage speedy adoption of renewable energy sources.

Tillerson, the incoming Sec of State, supports this approach.

Quite a mix. In addition to NASA and NOAA, there is the British Met office, several European agencies, JAXA (Japanese), a Chinese agency, numerous universities around the world and loads of private foundations and individuals.
