So when it's high tide and no longer flooding, what's that called?
Tides come and go. They add or subtract from the current sea levels. Now, on both coasts, when there is a particularly high tide, there is flooding.
What the dozen or so pictures I posted recently in this thread show is that those current sea levels are rising. Infrastructure was built, in California, Miami and other places, with an imperfect understanding of what would happen to sea levels and thus how much room should be given for high tides.

Nuts how the flooding in all those areas occurred after a very heavy rain event because, you know, rain doesn't add to sea levels.
Perhaps all these coastal cities need to follow the Netherlands lead on living below the sea..
