The following is a recent EWTN The World Over television show regarding the Cardinals' request for an audience with the Holy Father to clarify his pastoral teaching on Holy Communion.

Please do not misunderstand Raymond's initial statement to mean that Amoris Laetitia IS a pastoral document.....it was issued via an Apostolic Exhortation....and one of the questions of the Cardinals is for the Holy Father to clarify whether this is his pastoral teaching in spite of the fact that it is not presented clearly as such.

What is at stake is a number of things, the most notable being Holy Communion provided to those living in adultery (divorced and remarried).

“You shall not commit adultery.” (Ex 20:14)

“I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) and marries another commits adultery.” (Mt 19:9 NAB )

“Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.” (1Cor 11:27-29)

There is no room for confusion here.....

Monsignor Bux: We Are in a Full Crisis of Faith

Posted by Edward Pentin on Wednesday Jun 21st, 2017 at 7:42 AM

Theologian and former consulter to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith calls on the Pope to make a declaration of faith, warning that unless the Pope safeguards doctrine, he cannot impose discipline.

To resolve the current crisis in the Church over papal teaching and authority, the Pope must make a declaration of faith, affirming what is Catholic and correcting his own “ambiguous and erroneous” words and actions that have been interpreted in a non-Catholic manner.

This is according to Monsignor Nicola Bux, a respected theologian and former consulter to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith during Benedict XVI’s pontificate.

In the following interview with the Register, Msgr. Bux explains that the Church is in a “full crisis of faith” and that the storms of division the Church is currently experiencing are due to apostasy — the “abandonment of Catholic thought.”

Msgr. Bux’s comments come after news that the four dubia cardinals, seeking papal clarification of his exhortation Amoris Laetitia, wrote to the Pope April 25 asking him for an audience but have yet to receive a reply.

The cardinals expressed concern over the “grave situation” of episcopal conferences and individual bishops offering widely differing interpretations of the document, some of which they say break with the Church's teaching. They are particularly concerned about the deep confusion this has caused, especially for priests.

“For many Catholics, it is incredible that the Pope is asking bishops to dialogue with those who think differently [i.e. non-Catholic Christians], but does not want first to face the cardinals who are his chief advisors,” Msgr. Bux says.

“If the Pope does not safeguard doctrine,” he adds, “he cannot impose discipline.”

    ***

Monsignor Bux, what are the implications of the ‘doctrinal anarchy’ that people see happening for the Church, the souls of the faithful and priests?

The first implication of doctrinal anarchy for the Church is division, caused by apostasy, which is the abandonment of Catholic thought, as defined by St. Vincent of Lerins: quod semper, quod ubique, quod ab omnibus creditur (what has been believed everywhere, always, and by all). Saint Irenaeus of Lyon, who calls Jesus Christ the “Master of unity,” had pointed out to heretics that everyone professes the same things, but not everyone means the same thing. This is the role of the Magisterium, founded on the truth of Christ: to bring everyone back to Catholic unity.

St. Paul exhorted Christians to be in agreement and to speak with unanimity. What would he say today? When cardinals are silent or accuse their confreres; when bishops who had thought, spoken and written — scripta manent! [written words remain]— in a Catholic way, but then say the opposite for whatever reason; when priests contest the liturgical tradition of the Church, then apostasy is established, the detachment from Catholic thought. Paul VI had foreseen that “this non-Catholic thought within Catholicism will tomorrow become the strongest [force]. But it will never represent the Church's thinking. A small flock must remain, no matter how small it is.” (Conversation with J. Guitton, 9.IX.1977).

What implications, then, does doctrinal anarchy have for the souls of the faithful and ecclesiastics?

The Apostle exhorts us to be faithful to sure, sound and pure doctrine: that founded on Jesus Christ and not on worldly opinions (cf. Titus 1:7-11; 2:1-. Perseverance in teaching and obedience to doctrine leads souls to eternal salvation. The Church cannot change the faith and at the same time ask believers to remain faithful to it. She is instead intimately obliged to be oriented toward the Word of God and toward Tradition.

Therefore, the Church remembers the Lord’s judgment: “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” (John 9:39). Do not forget that, when one is applauded by the world, it means one belongs to it. In fact, the world loves its own and hates what does not belong to it (cf. John 15:19). May the Catholic Church always remember that she is made up of only those who have converted to Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit; all human beings are ordained to her (cf. Lumen gentium 13), but they are not part of her until they are converted.

How can this problem best be resolved?

The point is: what idea does the Pope have of the Petrine ministry, as described in Lumen gentium 18 and codified in canon law? Faced with confusion and apostasy, the Pope should make the distinction — as Benedict XVI did — between what he thinks and says as a private, learned person, and what he must say as Pope of the Catholic Church. To be clear: the Pope can express his ideas as a private learned person on disputable matters which are not defined by the Church, but he cannot make heretical claims, even privately. Otherwise it would be equally heretical.

I believe that the Pope knows that every believer — who knows the regula fidei [the rule of faith] or dogma, which provides everyone with the criterion to know what the faith of the Church is, what everyone has to believe and who one has to listen to — can see if he is speaking and operating in a Catholic way, or has gone against the Church’s sensus fidei [sense of the faith]. Even one believer can hold him to account. So whoever thinks that presenting doubts [dubia] to the Pope is not a sign of obedience, hasn’t understood, 50 years after Vatican II, the relationship between him [the Pope] and the whole Church. Obedience to the Pope depends solely on the fact that he is bound by Catholic doctrine, to the faith that he must continually profess before the Church.

We are in a full crisis of faith! Therefore, in order to stop the divisions in progress, the Pope — like Paul VI in 1967, faced with the erroneous theories that were circulating shortly after the conclusion of the Council — should make a Declaration or Profession of Faith, affirming what is Catholic, and correcting those ambiguous and erroneous words and acts — his own and those of bishops — that are interpreted in a non-Catholic manner.

Otherwise, it would be grotesque that, while seeking unity with non-Catholic Christians or even understanding with non-Christians, apostasy and division is being fostered within the Catholic Church. For many Catholics, it is incredible that the Pope is asking bishops to dialogue with those who think differently, but does not want first to face the cardinals who are his chief advisors. If the Pope does not safeguard doctrine, he cannot impose discipline. As John Paul II said, the Pope must always be converted, to be able to strengthen his brothers, according to the words of Christ to Peter: “Et tu autem conversus, confirma fratres tuos [when you are converted, strengthen your brothers].”

Don’t expect Pope Francis to respond to the four cardinals’ request: Vatican observers

amoris laetitia , catholic , communion for remarried , dubia , four cardinals letter , pope francis
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 27, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Canon Law expert Father Gerald Murray decried the confusion created by Pope Francis’ exhortation Amoris Laetitia last week on EWTN, saying if pastors don’t vigorously defend the faith they are remiss in their duty.
He noted that, because of the confusion, parish priests are now forced to question whether they should continue to uphold Church teaching that they learned in the seminary, which was carried out by the previous two pontiffs. This is the result of various Church hierarchies around the world now allowing divorced and remarried Catholics to receive Communion because of the document.
All of moral theology is a whole, Father Murray told The World Over’s Raymond Arroyo, and Catholics can’t separate one aspect from another.
“So if we can cast aside mortal sin for adultery, well, what other sins are now going to going to go off that list?” he asked. “And this is where you have lots of problems.”
“This is not a free-for-all religion,” Father Murray stated. “This is a religion handed down by the apostles from Christ. If we don’t zealously guard it, we’re failing in our duty as pastors.”

Arroyo asked Father Murray and veteran Vatican correspondent Ed Pentin for their perspective on the four dubia cardinals’ recent release of a follow-up request to Pope Francis for clarification on Amoris Laetitia.
Father Murray told Arroyo that the issues surrounding the pope’s document must be dealt with, and he heartily supports the cardinals’ effort to get the questions clarified.
Arroyo asked Pentin why there is reluctance on the part of Pope Francis to clarify something so elementary as the Church’s teaching on marriage.
    Ambiguity and irony

Pentin said there are a number of theories, “but I think the main one is that the pope wants this ambiguity, because he says that these issues aren’t black and white.”
Pentin noted as well that critics say that this goes against previous papal teaching.
Arroyo asked Pentin about why the pope would be reluctant to engage with the cardinals.
Pentin’s answer highlighted the contradiction between the pope’s consistent calls for dialogue with others and his non-response to the cardinals.
“Well, this is the irony,” he said, “because he does want to dialogue with everybody else it seems, but not his own cardinals.”
The cardinals are faced with a real problem in trying to uphold the orthodoxy of the faith, Pentin added.
“So that is of great concern,” he said, “to many of the cardinals, I understand, not just the four who are the dubia four.”
It’s anyone’s guess whether the pope will respond to the cardinals’ inquiry, Pentin told Arroyo, “but it seems unlikely at this stage.”
    Who’s watching over the flock?

Father Murray pointed out that the reference to the lay faithful in the cardinals’ recently published request to Pope Francis is very important because it shows that the cardinals are not simply acting on their own thoughts or concerns.
It’s well known that many complaints and doubts have come from the laity as well, he said, and it’s clear these cardinals feel it’s their responsibility as advisers to the pope to bring them to him in the spirit of ministering to the lay faithful.
Arroyo asked the priest whether Pope Francis would again dismiss the cardinals’ request for an audience, and simply invoke the pharisaical and rigid pejoratives as he regularly does.
It is unknown what the Holy Father will say, Father Murray replied, but he hasn’t so far answered the dubia.
“We do know that he has said to the Argentinian bishops of Buenos Aires region that their interpretation of Amoris Laetitia was correct,” Father Murray said, “and that interpretation is not in accord with Catholic doctrine.”
He emphasized recognizing what the question at hand actually is.
    What God said

“This is a question of, ‘What is the faith handed on from the apostles?’” Father Murray said. “And it’s quite clear — our Lord said, a man who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery.”
“Adultery is a mortal sin,” Father Murray continued. “Those who are living in the state of mortal sin in a public way are to be denied Communion by the Church’s ministers, for their own good.”
Receiving Communion in that situation not only scandalizes other people, it could further imperil the salvation of those who do so, the priest stated further.
“So, the unworthy reception of Holy Communion’s always a problem,” he stated, “We try to minimize it, try to eliminate it. But the public rejection of the Church’s teaching on marriage by getting civilly married cannot be tolerated as simply a minor matter.”
Arroyo asked Father Murray to compare the pope’s response to questions over his apostolic exhortation with how he addressed the dispute within the Order of Malta.
“So what I notice here is that certain issues get direct and immediate attention by the pope, and action is taken,” Father Murray said. “For the cardinals not to get an answer from the pope in my mind is not a good thing.”
“The pope is sovereign, he can do what he wants,” he continued, “but it doesn’t make sense, in all other areas where you take swift action when problems are brought to you, or you say you want dialogue – which he’s engaged in dialogue with a lot of people – why aren’t these cardinals brought and (it) said, “Look, I know you’re here because you love the Church, we all love the Church, let’s discuss what’s at issue.”
Francis told the faithful to go out and make a mess, Father Murray reminded Arroyo and his viewers, and the four cardinals are simply bringing to his attention that some of this approach is not going in the right direction and Church leaders must deal with it.
“Remember, the pope is a servant of Christ,” Father Murray stated, “so are you and I, anybody in the Church, all the baptized, we’re all under the eye of Christ.”
“So we all have to say to ourselves, 'What would Christ do if a doctrinal question came to him that was of great importance?'” he said. “Would he say to people, look, don’t ask questions because the pope’s gonna get upset? I don’t think so.”

The Great Schism foretold within the Catholic Church for millennia is about to occur before our eyes. This event not only precedes the 2nd Coming of Christ, but is to occur shortly before He returns.

BACKGROUND: Pope Francis convened a Synod of bishops (in two meetings) during 2014 & 2015. They were expressly given license to discuss openly anything and everything regardless of its compliance with historical Catholic doctrine. Early in 2016 a summary report [emphasis mine] was issued in the form of an Apostolic Exhortation [emphasis mine] summarizing the discussion points, and doing so WITHOUT reaching a conclusion or FORMAL DIRECTIVE OF TEACHING.

The Vatican issues statements daily in various forms and for clarity, breaks them into various categories. An Apostolic Exhortation is the lowest category, and in laymen terms it is equivalent to a “memorandum”. As such, priests are not required to even read Apostolic Exhortations, i.e. they are optional reading.

The problem has arisen in that certain things were discussed at the Synod that CONTRADICT HISTORICAL CATHOLIC DOCTRINE and were delineated and summarized in the document.

    Now……..

The Freemasons have infiltrated the Catholic Church (just like every other group on earth) to undermine it from within.

Ecclesiastical Masonry: The Beast Like a Lamb
    www.call2holiness.org/EcclesiasticalMasonry/EcclesiasticalMasonry.htm

These liberal Freemason priests (apostates, actually) ……..just like liberals throughout the world……… have jumped on the words in the document and ARE TREATING THEM LIKE THEY ARE NEW DOCTRINE. In Catholicism, it is impossible to contradict historical Catholic doctrine. Clarify it, yes; contradict it, no.

Several cardinals (who wear red to signify a willingness to defend the faith until death), bishops, monsignors, priests, theologians and laymen are petitioning the Pope to clarify the confusion before scandal results. For example:

Monsignor Bux: We Are in a Full Crisis of Faith

What is at stake is a number of things, the most notable being Holy Communion provided to those living in adultery (divorced and remarried) and now an adulteration of the Holy Mass established by Jesus (consider it “His last testament”) the night before He died.

The Apostates will break away from the Catholic Church, and join with others from other religions and establish a man-made New Age Religion (ultimately, worshipping the Antichrist).

Rome will become the last Babylon on earth…..just as ancient Babylon was the first occurrence of organized false religion on earth; the last Babylon the Great (viz. the New Age One-World Religion) will be the last occurrence of organized false religion on earth.

They will seize Rome, and run the Catholic Church out of town. The true Catholic Church will go underground again……going out the same what that she came in….via the catacombs.

Venerable Catherine Emmerich was a remarkable visionary of the 18th century.

She received many visions and prophecies about the Life of Christ and the End Times.....some of which speak of Two Popes; the Abomination of Desolation, and the Great Schism in the Catholic Church (with Apostates leaving the true Church), and more. I have included a few at the following link:

    http://www.thetreeofliberty.com/vb/s...erine-Emmerich

Sister Emmerich was a stigmatist, and her dead and excavated body was found incorrupt.

[I believe that she also lived only off of the Holy Eucharist for many years.....but would have to research this.]

In any event, I gave the excerpts of her prophecies a separate thread....so as not to distract from this one.

A couple of the many on this topic via John Leary:

Via John Leary (yet to be approved by the Church)

    March 10, 2009

Jesus said: “My people, I am giving you a message of love because of how much I love everyone, even those who do not love Me. You can see My love in that I suffered and died on a cross for ransoming all of your sins. I give you My unconditional love because you are all My creations and I am an example for you to love everyone also. You need to strive to love even your enemies, if you want to work toward your perfection. My son, I want you to teach My love for My people as well as any preparation that is needed for the tribulation. When everyone sees My love, you will know why I will go to great lengths in doing the impossible for protecting you from the evil ones at My refuges, and providing for your needs. It is most important that you pray and give Me worship every day. This is why if you do not have a priest for Mass at the refuge, I will have My angels give you your daily Bread of Communion so I can be united with you in all of your trials. When you see the world famine, the division in My Church, mandatory chips in the body, martial law, and the pandemic virus, you will know it is time to call on Me, and your guardian angel will lead you with a physical sign to the nearest refuge. Rejoice that you will be invisible to the evil ones on the way to your refuge. Everything that you need will be provided, so have full trust and faith in My watching over you. Know again that it is out of love that I am with you always in My Real Presence in My Host.”

    January 4, 2008:
Jesus said: "My people, I am warning you that in the end days there will be many false christs and deceivers trying to mislead My faithful, even in your churches. Beware of those who teach false doctrine or New Age principles that only talk about man with no mention of God. There will also be increasing persecutions from outside of My Church that will be threatening your freedom of religion. Many of your rights, that you have grown up with, are going to be challenged as the one world people try to implement their new world order. I have told you that you will need to be strong in your faith, but you also will need to be discerning that false teachings do not slip into your churches. If someone teaches falsely, then challenge their interpretation. Otherwise, if it persists, then leave that church. Know that eventually, you will need to have your meetings in your homes, and then it will be time to leave for My refuges. This division in My Church will be one of your signs to leave for My refuges."
