Default Are We Nearing Civil War?

Are We Nearing Civil War? - Pat J. Buchanan/CNS News

President Trump may be chief of state, head of government and commander in chief, but his administration is shot through with disloyalists plotting to bring him down.

The trouble is that there exist multitudes of local and state gubermints that share the contempt for that which "wee" hold near and dear.

I've heard it argued that we are already in a "cold civil war." When I see the dope holding a severed head that is the likeness of the prez. and still she's free, I see the intent. When I read about the NY play where a likeness of the prez is assassinated Caesar style, I see the desire and intent. The left will keep pushing until the non left shoves back. Then we'll have our Ft. Sumter moment and for much the same reason. The damned Northeast kept pushing and nipping at the South until the hotheads shoved back.
Right now, one side is pushing and posing for a civil war. I don't think they know what they're pushing for.

And now the left is backing away from this scum, who they goaded into action. The chorous of ''gun control'' from the left is sickening, with our Virginia Gov. being the first one to get his face on tv. Now that this Bernie supporter has assumed room temperature, we can only hope that on his trip to the boiler room, via the express elevator, is a quick one, as the door opens and he stands before Ol' Scratch himself, will he feel the burn.... Yes we have been in an ''undeclared'' war since the mid 90's.
''... I believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people...are a safeguard to the continuance of a free government...whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast Republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.''- Gen. Robert E. Lee

Only if you can have a civil war by tapping on a smart phone.

The only way I can see this becoming something more is if Trump were to be ejected and called for his followers to physically resist on the way out. Trump might be crazy enough to do something like that, but that's one reason why a movement to push for his removal is unlikely. In all probability, he will serve out his term and be replaced by a Democrat in an historic landslide. Until there is a leader who is backed into a corner and sufficiently crazy to call for violence, no civil war. Relatively bloodless coups, on the other hand, are definitely a possibility in the style of politics we are allowing to develop. Usually countries go through a number of those before things boil over into civil war.

We do appear to be on a slide to levels of corruption that will eventually destroy any legitimacy of our government though. That's a bad trend. I'm not sure that anyone has ever arrested such a fall, as slow as it might be.

The "legitimacy of our government" was destroyed a long time ago.
Plato once said, “Wise men speak because they have something to say. Fools, because they have to say something.”

"Fere libenter homines id quod volunt credunt." "Men willingly believe what they wish to believe."

They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

Sadly, you are right. I'm not sure where we as a country are headed but we will probably still be saying "somebody ought to do something about that"....................

11-Year-Old Docked Points On Homework Assignment for Not Bashing Trump

    Indoctrination under way.
    Via PJ Media:
To say that some people dislike Donald Trump may well be the understatement of the year. It’s hard to imagine any duly elected president seeing so many protests, yet here we are.
It’s so bad that now an 11-year-old in Annadale, New York, was docked 15 points on a homework assignment because she failed to answer a question demanding students bash Trump:
Vincent Ungro, a dad from Annadale, New York, has an 11-year-old daughter who attends I.S. (Intermediate School) 75. She asked him for help with her vocabulary homework last Friday night because she was trying to fill in the blanks from a word bank to complete her assignment — and was really puzzled.
“President Trump speaks in a very superior and _________ manner insulting many people. He needs to be more __________ so that the American people respect and admire him,” read one homework sentence.
The next question was: “Barack Obama set a _________ when he became the first African-American president.”
And what were the choices for the two questions, you ask? These three words: “haughty,” “humble,” and “precedent.” You can guess which ones were meant to be the “correct” answers in this teacher’s mind.
Ungro, 46, told his daughter not to fill in those blanks — and wrote a note to the teacher, Adria Zawatsky, on the homework sheet, as The Post noted. “Please keep your political views to yourself and do not try to influence my children on them. Thank you,” he wrote.
