    O.W., bad in the late 70s, I did clean a really soiled keyboard with a light application of Dawn detergent, which was new. It worked, but I was careful just to clean the tops.

    I got yelled at, anyway. After that, I restrict myself to canned air and screen wipes.

    They can be washed, but don't plug them in until they are completely dry!

    I've even heard of some people running them through the dishwasher... never tried it myself. If I were to try it, I'd certainly remove it before the dry cycle, for fear if potential melting ir heat damage.
