I fail to see the relevance of Jesus' skin color. It's the message that is important, to me anyway. Peace

And in conjunction with Pastor Guest's reply:

Isa 52:12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.
Isa 52:13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
Isa 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
Granted that was probably referring to His beating.

And for His beard that might not of looked so good either:

Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Isa 50:7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Is it true that the painting was bought on some sort of "installment" plan.
You know, like 6 easy payments of $19.95 for the new Ab-Flexer.

Not sure if it was the way you describe it, however, I think from the OP that they had to put up 100 million as a down payment, before they could bid. To keep out the riff raff.

    Yeah, you're right it doesn't.

However, when one side, or the other (white supremacy vs black liberation theology) makes it a point of salvation (your skin color determines whether you can be, or are automatically saved, or not) then it is a point of contention.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Then when we look at "whosoever" of John 3: 16 it doesn't mean "whosoever" in the normal understanding of "whosoever" as in:

WHOSESOEVER, pron. [whose and soever.] Of any person whatever. John 20.
The white supremacist would read that whosoever is white. The black liberation theologist would read it as whosoever is black.

And the belief part is left out, and the "whosoever" is redefined.

Which doesn't have so much to do with Jesus's skin color, but who He died for.

And to prop up those theologies one side will say Jesus is white, and have portrait's of Him being white, and the other side will say He is black, and have portrait's of Him being black.
