I suppose I look at things a bit different ... I don't do "devil's advocate' nonsense, for instance names in the Bible. Rebeka, Abraham, Joshua, Mary, ...e.g. Now it's my understanding that much if not all of the events, circumstances and situations referenced are located in the middle eastern region. Do you suppose that any of the indigenous of that region, to include practicing Christians, bear any of those first names?

How has the human condition improved since the inception of the Bible and it's promotion by it's sword wielding bearers?

Some folks think of ancient times as ignorant, "backwards" times when it was in those times glass for the telescope was created, the Archimedes screw and other irrigation techniques and many many other advances to improve the human condition.

Some very smart, creative folks lived back then, some smart enough to realize that peepses too were resources to harvested. Generation after generation, endless resources ... and now who is in possession of these resources? Someone(s) who were smart enough to know that peepse are inherently aware of a "higher" Spiritual existence. Give it a name, an obscure face and a believable back story, make It Tangible but just beyond reach ... wahla (voila for you french folk).

Introduce the term blasphemer, sever a few heads. boil a few bodies, crucify a few, burn some at the stake, you know, introduce a bit of fear.

What do you suppose became of the remnants of that golden calf?

Anyway, this uncivil war will be horrendous. I wonder if there are any out 'n about spreading the Good Word in hopes of curtailing such? Nary a peep as the Bushes started their war that continues today.
