If a person has an affair with porn star, tries to cover it up, and then lies about it, then they probably deserve to be embarrassed.

I understand why you'd be of that opinion, but what someone deserves in regards to their actions is not your decision. I would say more generally, that a person engaging in such things is likely to be embarrassed in most cases.

The discussion above does NOT address what I actually said, though, in regards to whether or not a smear is dependent on the reality of the accusation. To reiterate: the timing of this information comes at a time when many deep state minions are about to get outed, and any distraction will do.

I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out why the lawyer felt compelled to volunteer this information, and I think it's probably the book deal. As long as the NDA was in place, he could have stonewalled the watchdog group until Hell froze over. There is no compulsion from them that could "make" him volunteer this information. But if he privately spent his own money to buy off Stormy Daniel's silence, that means he had his own business arrangement with her, and to break the NDA under those conditions means that something changed with that arrangement. It's become known that she's shopping a book, and I think that was the trigger, or the excuse, to activate this stuff as a weaponized story.

And to our inheritors before us saying, 'Create the world we will live in.' I mean, we're not just holding jobs and having dinner. We are in the process of building the future."

She's not a cheap trick at those rates

True. I'm suggesting that the lawyer sees a chance to recoup an investment...

Payment for services rendered or retainer?

It is pretty unlikely that he acted without his boss's approval.

Unless he perceived a large enough financial windfall. Lawyers and betrayal are well-acquainted reactants, and the fluid catalyst is cash flow.

For such a betrayal, interesting that Trump has not fired him.

I agree with you on that.

Why would a lawyer spend 160k of his own money to keep a clients past secret? Since there was an agreement in place and he violated it he opens himself up to lawsuits from his client. I can't imagine any amount of money he would gain in a book deal would be enough to get disbarred for violating attorney client privilege and the ensuing lawsuits.
