NO!

It is difficult in the aftermath of the Parkland, FL shooting to have to come up with such a stance, but the collectivist left leaves no alternative. No, we will not give up our guns, not now, not if you have another hundred school shootings. Columbine was the worst school shooting in history nearly 19 years ago, 19! In the aftermath, while law enforcement stood about outside the building unsure of whether to enter, or where, or if the shooting was ongoing, America has still not solved the issue of school shootings.

Why so many shootings at schools? They are easy targets for one, they are filled with kids, unable and uninclined to defend themselves. They are "gun-free" zones, at least until the armed assailant enters that pristine atmosphere, knowing that no harm will come to him, that he will be the ultimate in power for the first time in his life. That he might hold teenage grudges against people who did not treat him appropriately, from his perspective, is just another reason to attack a school.

The real question is why on earth, after so many school shootings have the schools not done more to harder their defenses. Metal detectors are of no consequence to the dedicated shooter. The only thing that has ever worked to minimize or prevent school shootings is armed response. So, after 19 years of carnage, false flags and even possibly FBI initiated or tolerated murders of students going to school, in order to secure an assault weapons ban, the way they tolerated thousands of Mexican deaths during Fast and Furious, the way they tolerated the death of Brian Terry, the schools themselves have not done the one thing that could have stopped it, right then. If the coach, who was also a security guard for the school had been armed, perhaps he would have been able to trade a few rounds back at the demented shooter instead of essentially being a bullet catcher for the rounds fired by the shooter. Heroic, yes, absolutely, but more heroic would have been to stop the killing, not to just be one of the killed, no matter how well-intentioned it might be.

Yes, I already hear the drumbeat for gun control, for what other purpose would so many collectivist school systems have allowed their children to be slaughtered, except that they see that by every sacrifice of children they offer up, the collectivist goal of gun confiscation gets closer and closer. That is a sick and demented mentality, the same sort of sick mentality it takes to kill millions of Jews and millions of Russian citizens, with the idea of a better outcome at the end. But, sometimes the end does not justify the means that NO end justifies the means of allowing hundreds of children to be slaughtered all for the idea of some legislation getting through congress and had I not had a front-row-seat to the Fast and Furious scandal, I would not even contemplate that our government officials would be as callous and cynical as to engage in such activities, but they have and since they have, they will in the future.

Granted, many school officials are just timid, who fear weapons of self defense as much as they fear a pay cut, or a strike, but that does not alleviate them from the responsibility to look at the solution to such massacres and to employ it. Since they have not, they are culpable in the slaughter themselves. So, when they look out at the law-abiding public and point a finger at them and proclaim that they should not be allowed to employ guns to defend themselves, the answer can only be NO.

Guns are used numerous times a day to deter crime, most of which are never reported to the police, because the gun owner has no reason to involve police in a situation where a firearm was used to deter crime. It simply serves no purpose. The threat was dealt with and the perpetrator ran away. Unless the weapon is actually fired, there is no reason to involve the police. So, this statistic does not show up in studies, it is just a personal anecdote told by the criminal or the person required to defend himself. There is also no reason for all of these people, who rely on weapons to defend themselves and their property to do without that protection, to encourage crime in that way all because schools have not learned the lessons given to them over the past 19 YEARS.

If you're stupid and you know it, raise your hand. Being educated by gun-grabbing collectivist teachers and professors does not give one the right to expose millions of fellow Americans to the criminal element with whom they must decide life and death every single day. Your privileged perspective has no relevance on the street level, where these issues are determined. We will keep our guns, our freedoms, our lives, our wallets and our inventory. Thanks for playing.
