Broke a record last night and it is still only 8 above zero at 9:25 SDT Send me some of this imaginary global warming----- Please. There is still pl;aces in Northern Wi. that now has 2 feet of snow pack when in fact it should be all gone, we have nearly a foot here and years ago some farmers were already planting at this time of the month. or at the very least getting into the fields getting them ready for planting.

The "facts" that to which you are referring are either raw data "adjusted" to change trendlines and satisfy theories or simulation outputs that by logical circumstance generate model-supportive output that is then refed into the same models. I was cautioned in school that using similar sorts "facts" would earn me a failing grade on an assignment. Just saying.

This keeps getting pointed out again and again, the AGCC cult goes quiet for a while, then goes at it again.

We have to make people...lift their eyes back to the horizon and see the line of ancestors behind us saying, 'Make my life have meaning.' And to our inheritors before us saying, 'Create the world we will live in.' I mean, we're not just holding jobs and having dinner. We are in the process of building the future."

Guys... research "Grand Solar Minimum". I've long believed (since the 1970's, and I was only in my late teens at the time... yes, I'm weird) that we were in much more danger from at least a "little ice age" (based on solar cycles and historical cycles) than any bullschit "global warming". History shows that we've actually been in a significant warm cycle, and that we're now cycling out of it.

If you raise your own food (or, for that matter, eat!), it's already getting late to consider what changes you might want to make in response to this threat, which is becoming more and more likely and evident. Fortunately, I long ago decided to plant perennials which are hardier than our growing zone would require, and we limited our experimental (hedging our bets, as always) "warmer climate" crops such as peaches and apricots.

I'm guessing we'll need to consider a pit greenhouse in the near future, as well as a high tunnel for growing the important longer season crops such as melons, tomatoes, peppers, etc.

It's starting to look like the bolts of Malden Mills fleece fabrics I bought at incredible prices on closeout a few years back may have been a very good investment.

Also.... while it's too late to get pure vanilla extract at reasonable (or even affordable) prices... vanilla beans I paid $44 a pound for 6 years ago are now going for $720 per pound!), coffee and cocoa are also tropical crops which may be hugely affected by cooling temperatures. Raw green coffee beans will store for years if carefully packed, either nitrogen flushed or with sufficient oxygen absorbers to make a "brick" out of the package (in heavyweight mylar packaging). Good quality Cocoa powder will also store for many, many years... I recently just used up the last of what I had stored for Y2k, and there was no discernible change in flavor.

Other potential storage items would be black pepper, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger (the first two in whole form, the latter two in powder form), and all vacuum sealed with oxygen absorbers to keep fresh.

Whole cinnamon and peppercorns will keep fresh for years simply in sealed glass jars in the dark, if you have a cool place.

I'm sure there are many more spices people can think of that they "can't live without", but we chose years ago to stay with recipes and meals which were made from primarily locally grown items, and the ginger, turmeric is medicinal for us.

Late freezes seem to be the new norm here for the last couple of years. All orchard crops have been lost for us this year, again.

Have you checked what's actually going on in Alaska or Greenland or Ireland? In Alaska structures build on permafrost are now tilting and sinking. The ice pack that formerly protected northern coastal villages from winter storm damage are now gone. That cruise ships are starting to experiment with the northern route from the Pacific to the North Atlantic? That crazy weather is now almost normal; too hot, too cold, too slow to move on. New England had three Nor'Easters in a row. Ireland is going to have to import fodder for the animals because of how much snow they've had.

Unusual warmth can lure some plants to begin their springtime flowering; when followed by unusual cold crop failure results.

When Svante August Arrhenius more than a hundred years ago predicted a warming from a buildup of CO2 in the atmosphere he thought it would take centuries and that it would be a good thing. Obviously it's not that simple, or good.

I’m not part of the cult man.I have spent my whole life outside and can tell you from my own observations it is warming.
I have no agenda in fact if it warms up here I will be attending a stock car race next weekend.Just pointing out the facts as I see them.
I just admit what we are man.We will suck every last resource we can from this planet until it can give no more.
And hopefully when it’s all used up we will have found a new host and have the ability to get there.
