For me its a toss up between
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence
and Once upon A time In The West..
    Both excellent movies.

    I loved Lonesome Dove.
    Hummm maybe sort of, kinda.

Same sort of thing going on, a couple/three guys driving a small herd of cattle on an open range, run into cattle baron, have gun fight, fall in love, etc....

Cattle baron has a well known gun slinger employed. Unbeknown to the cattle baron, and Kevin's partner, Kevin is a quick draw gunslinger with a past, who quit and changed to partner with Duvall, and leave his past behind. And yeah he was fast.

However it was not a made for TV movie.

I didn't know it wasn't a made for TV movie.

jimmyb, Claudia Cardinale was a looker.

But Grace Kelly was goddess beautiful.
Possibly, the most beautiful Hollywood actress ever.

Shane. Rio Grand W/ John Wayne and Ben Johnson a close second...
''... I believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people...are a safeguard to the continuance of a free government...whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast Republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.''- Gen. Shane's a good one.

Although I enjoy The Duke and his movies, he's not always my favorite
