Default YouTube embeds and Internet Explorer

About a week ago I received a call from a friend that he is no longer able to view YouTube embeds on his computer. He is an older gentleman of 82 and is using IE 11 and all of the embeds appear as a simple black box where the embed should be. ... And I use IE a lot as well but have been busy here and had not checked TOL for about week. Sure enough I am getting the black box as well.

Firefix, Chrome, Edge all pull the embeds normally. But not IE. Seems to be perhaps something wrong with the embed code on this site only because other sites display embeds just fine. I am wondering if others out there in TOL land use IE (any version) and are having any success with YouTube embeds.

You probably need to enable HTML5 video in IE.

It's enabled. As it plays HTML5 on YouTube and embeds on other sites normally. Not using flash on anything. ... We are an ISP and our IT guys say it has to be something isolated to the embed code on this site, as embeds on other sites and videos on YouTube itself work perfectly.

I, too, am getting the black boxes using IE.
I watch a lot of YT videos on IE without a problem.

A dew days ago I was unable to access another site on IE but it worked fine on Chrome

Thanks for the info Davy. I have since heard from others and they are having the black box problem too. ... I am currently involved in a conversation on Skype to Southeast Asia and they report the same. ... Maybe this can be fixed soon.
