    Default Cataract Surgery-Unreal expectations?

On June 8th, I had a cataract removed from my left eye.
The lens was a standard lens which was supposed to correct my medium and far vision but not reading.
I was told my eyes are healthy.

Before I did this, I'd heard numerous anecdotes about people throwing their glasses away after this.

3 weeks later,I can't see much better than before.

I see better with my prescription than without
I have tried closing each eye to see if it makes a difference with and without glasses.

Sometimes, it's like I'm looking through a haze.

The only area that seems improved is white is a lot whiter.

I had a follow up 10 days after surgery and expressed concerns but was told was still healing.
Have another on July 17th, 5 weeks after surgery.

Has anyone had this procedure and what has been your experience?

    Thank you

Healing definitely takes some time... but after 6-10 weeks, it should be stabilized as much as it will be.

Please tell me Dr Gorden Weubolt hasn't bought up the eye clinics as far south as you are... he essentially blinded hubby, and by the time he referred him to a specialist (which was the first time he admitted he WASN'T a glaucoma specialist) it was too late. And hubby had the same experience- his vision was BARELY better after the cataract surgery (and this was before the surgery aggravated his glaucoma, something we were NOT told could happen). And Weubolt lies and talks around and NEVER answers questions.

    Fortunately, that wasn't my doctor.
I had a well respected local doctor who I've known for many years.
I'm only 3 weeks in so, maybe, I'm a little impatient

Also had no glaucoma or macular degeneration

My dad had it done, over a decade ago. He had gotten so he couldn't see at night, especially driving.. his results were as expected, but I don't recall how long it took him to recover.

Davy, my mom had it done on both eyes. After going through the healing process, she no longer needed glasses. She also saw a big difference immediately after surgery. It's been a few years, since she had the surgeries done, and now she only needs glasses for reading.

    Thanks for your comments.

Like your dad, night driving was/is hard.
    Especially if it's raining.

I guess I was expecting faster results
