    Rod Rosenstein Summoned To White House
    by Tyler Durden Tue, 07/17/2018
    Update: Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirms that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein was indeed at the White House today, however she says it was for "routine meetings. He did not meet with the president while he was here,” she says. It is unclear what those meetings were.
    * * *
    Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was summoned to the White House Tuesday morning, four days after he indicted 12 Russian Intelligence officers for hacking the 2016 US election. The indictment came one business day before President Trump held a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland.

    One could hope that Rosenstein would be impeached rather than fired.
    The impeachment process carries with it discovery. That would not
    happen if Rosenstein were to simply be fired.
    I would wager that neither will happen.

    That would be tricky. The House could vote to impeach by a simple majority; that's considered "impeachment." Then the Senate serves as jury and House members as prosecutors, with the President of the Senate presiding. Currently that's Pence 46. The Senate must convict by a supermajority (two-thirds voting to convict) or the Bill of Impeachment fails.
