this is like the olden days when someone would yell "WITCH!" and point at some woman they didnt like. Then they'd make up a story about their crops failing after she walked by their farm. No proof needed - just the good word of a Christian accuser would kick off an investigation that required the Accused to PROVE she was not a witch which often included torture and dunk tanks.
