Charles and Stephanie Wesco had been making short-term mission trips for a while when they decided to save up their money and move to Africa permanently. Finally, 2 weeks ago, they made the move with their 8 children from Indiana to Cameroon, to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yesterday Charles was shot in the head and killed. Soldiers say rebels shot him. Rebels say soldiers shot him. His family believes he was targeted because he was a white, English-speaking American.

The U.S. State Department is working to get the family safely back to the States. Please pray for them.

Could this fella not make a mission trip to Indianapolis or maybe Cincinnati? The demographics I understand are somewhat similar ... spiritually misguided and such.

Now the us goobermint is going to make them come back to the us? All that money spent and their work hasn't yet begun.

I believe they want to come back. The man's wife is there without her husband (or any known support group), with 6 sons and 2 daughters aged 1-12 years grieving the loss of their dad. I seriously doubt she has the desire to stay. The government is just helping them get back.
