Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) played the victim card as she complained on Friday about the backlash she faced after she spoke to an audience of predominately black people in an accent — which sparked widespread accusations that her remarks were racist and patronizing.
Ocasio-Cortez — who often refers to Republicans as racists, white supremacists, and xenophobes — complained that is was “so hurtful” that people would call her out for the way she talked to black audience members.
“Folks talking about my voice can step right off,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Women’s March & Kavanaugh speech, same. Any kid who grew up in a distinct linguistic culture & had to learn to navigate class enviros at school/work knows what’s up. My Spanish is the same way. These conspiracy mills are [garbage emoji].”
“As much as the right wants to distort & deflect, I am from the Bronx,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “I act & talk like it, *especially* when I’m fired up and especially when I’m home. Political Action Committee Behind Ocasio-Cortez’s Victory Facing Backlash
Looks like they were raising money using some candidates and then taking the money to back others like Ocasio-Cortez.

A controversial political action committee that helped propel Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to her stunning victory in Congress, has come under fire from some of the other progressive Democrats who sought its support.
David Hildebrand, who was committed to running a grassroots campaign against incumbent Sen. Dianne Feinstein in California, sought out the group which was also helping dozens of other progressives in elections across the country last year.
But after an interview with Justice Democrats, Hildebrand said they muscled him out of the race, choosing a female candidate to run in last June’s primary against Feinstein.
“I had support in my community and was nominated by many people,” he told The Post.
