Pelosi Confirms Democrats Targeting New Gun Legislation With House Takeover

The main take-away from all of this is – in order to implement a socialist government, the people have to be disarmed so the government can rob the people of their property.

    Suzanne HamnerDecember 18, 2018

Leave it to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats to ride a dead horse going into assuming the House majority. According to the Speaker-presumptive Pelosi, Democrats are aiming at the right of citizens to keep and bear arms almost immediately when the new session begins by creating a mandatory "universal background check" for all gun sales. Despite the federal government already infringing on the Second Amendment by implementing unconstitutional background checks for gun sales, Democrats can't resist but to somehow put their spin on something that already exists.

    According to the Western Journal:

Democrats will take aim at gun rights once they take power in the House next year, according to Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi.

” … (T)he new Democratic Majority will act boldly and decisively to ensure that no other family must endure the pain caused by gun violence,” the California Democrat said Friday, in a statement marking the sixth anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
What Democrats are billing as a measure to create universal background checks will be introduced early in next year’s sessions, said California Democratic Rep. Mike Thompson, according to Politico.
“It will be strong legislation to expand background checks, and I will have a very respectful show” of co-sponsors, Thompson said. “I think you will see it happen in the first 100 days.”
Thompson said his bill requires federal background checks on every gun sale, including private deals, with some exemptions for transfers among family members.

    Politico reported:
Thompson's legislation would require federal background checks on all gun sales, including private transactions. There likely would be small exemptions, such as transfers between family members, or temporary use of a gun for hunting. Gun-control groups estimate that roughly one-fifth or more of gun sales don't include background checks.
Thompson, King and more than 200 other House lawmakers — including 14 Republicans — introduced similar legislation in November 2017, but it went nowhere.
"The American people want this. They're way ahead of the Congress; they're way ahead of the White House," Thompson insisted.
Thompson's proposal, like many that House Democrats will pass in the new majority, may end up more as a messaging bill meant to show the American public that they listened to those who marched for action after the February school shooting in Parkland, Fla., as well as proving they won't shy away from talking about gun control ahead of the ultimate 2020 election battle with Trump.

However, as many in the alternative media and the National Rifle Association have contended for quite some time, any legislation targeting the Second Amendment and law-abiding gun owners is a backdoor toward a national gun registry. But, many Americans are not aware the federal government has illegally and unconstitutionally compiled a database of gun owners using the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
To be very clear, the NICS system is retaining records of legal purchases, it is sharing that information with other agencies, it is retaining and sharing information containing enough detail to match the purchaser to a government created list, and now the US government is publicizing the fact that it is doing this even though it is a violation of federal law.

This was reported by Freedom Outpost also in 2015. How many Americans actually paid attention to it?
As expected, Republicans are downplaying the Democrats' intent to introduce additional legislation for background checks in order to purchase a firearm, which affects law-abiding citizens only. It is predicted that the Republican-controlled Senate and President Donald Trump stand in the way of getting this Democratic dead horse bill enacted into law. But, with Trump favoring "taking guns, worrying about due process later" and Republicans known for their capitulation to Democrats, stalling the legislation by the Senate and Trump is not a "sure thing."
Moreover, Democrats are ready to spend taxpayer dollars on studies that provide research into gun violence for the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
One has to question this new charge for universal background checks already in existence by Democrats. Why? The federal government is already maintaining an illegal, unconstitutional database of gun owners through NICS. The UN Small Arms Treaty signed by then Secretary of State John Kerry has gun registration/confiscation measures contained in its pages. Several States have enacted gun registration, gun confiscation, and so-called "red flag laws" in violation of the God-given individual unalienable right of the people to keep and bear arms. What could the Democrats sneak into this new bill, which will not be read by one House or Senate member, that could see it pass and land on the president's desk? Remember Obamacare? Despite not one Republican vote, no one read that obnoxious monstrosity before passing it. Let's not forget the rampant voter fraud perpetrated against the American people in order to get Democrats elected to promote policies antithetical to our Constitution.

According to Politico, several gun-control groups weighed in on getting "common sense" gun laws passed.
Yet gun-control groups such as Giffords and Everytown for Gun Safety argue that the political environment has moved decisively in their favor. They point to the fact that Democratic candidates who embraced gun-control measures did well in November, especially with suburban voters horrified by repeated mass shootings targeting children or schools.
"For the first time in years, the House of Representatives is going to be able to debate and pass strong gun-safety laws, which is something they haven't been able to do during this modern gun-safety movement," which began with the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, said Robin Lloyd, director of government affairs at Giffords. Giffords was founded by former Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, who was severely injured in a January 2011 shooting that left six people dead and 13 wounded.
"The public has been demanding commonsense gun laws for years," added John Feinblatt, Everytown's president. "The public is ready for the Congress to act. The new leadership that's coming to the House in 2019 is listening to voters, and that's what they should be doing."
Everytown was started by Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire businessman and former New York City mayor. Bloomberg dumped tens of millions of dollars into the midterms to help Democrats, and he's now considering a run for the White House in 2020.
Democratic presidential hopefuls will also have to be much more aggressive in talking about gun control, even if proponents can't get such measures through Congress, say lawmakers and party activists.
“Any Democrat running for president or dog catcher has to be talking about gun policy," said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who has led the drive for more gun restrictions since Sandy Hook.
“Republicans can’t win the House back if their position on guns doesn’t change,” he added. “This is now a top-two or -three issue for swing voters in suburban districts, and until Republicans break from the NRA, they’re not going to win back the seats that they lost in 2018.“
This last statement by Sen. Chris Murphy is pure fantasy. It's directed at Republicans to abandon their gun owner voter base in favor of Democratic Socialist gun registration/confiscation.
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez stated after the election of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic Socialist, that she is the future of the Democratic Party. Despite having the qualifier "democrat" in front of "socialist", there is nothing democratic about socialism. Just because a country calls itself a "democracy" or a "republic" that does not make it so – examples: The People's Republic of China; The Republic of North Korea. Socialism always involves the confiscation of firearms from the general population, with government possessing and wielding all firearms. It happened with the National Socialist Party (Nazi) in Germany and after the Bolshevik revolution in Russia.
It is important for Americans to learn the basic concept of socialism – "from each according to his ability" to "each according to his need." An interesting read is the White House document, "The Opportunity Cost of Socialism," published October 20, 2018. The 72-page document outlines the price that is paid when socialism is implemented. It isn't the "utopia" people like Bernie Sanders or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claim. But, the people who advocate for socialist government in the united States will argue against the truth of this document by claiming "true socialism has never been tried before."
The main take-away from all of this is – in order to implement a socialist government, the people have to be disarmed so the government can rob the people of their property.
    Be warned America!

when will legally armed citizens say enough. every major genocide in history has occurred after being promised that if they surrender their weapons, peace will reign. Just ask the native Americans, the Jews of Europe and the people of Chicongo where its not illegal but just harder than heck to obtain a legal gun but the bad guys can get anything they want if their money is in hand. Prep andpray, the end has arrived.

You too can get anything you want if your money is in hand. Illegal gun dealers don't ask for ID and they don't check your criminal bona fides. They don't demand that you demonstrate your allegiance to a criminal syndicate and they don't make you snort a gram of meth before handing over a handgun.

Taxi drivers are a great place to start. They know everybody and every thing that happens. I had a great Norinco 9mm pistol I bought from a taxi driver for $50 back in 1991. Poor maintenance from being stashed under the seat of my truck had led to quite a bit of rust forming in its final days and its quasi-legal status led me to not want to try and ship it into Hawaii where I'd have to register it.

Wasn't a great gun, or a valuable gun, or even really a gun that was fun to shoot but I always appreciate having guns the government doesn't have a record of me having.

The best thing for liberty would be for the people in government to finally openly abolish the second amendment.
If special people can use the cloak of government to ban a piece of plastic, the cloak of government can be used to take ANYTHING.
In reality, we do not have gun rights anymore than we have bubble gum rights.
What we have are PROPERTY RIGHTS!
I understand that the word "property" was removed and replaced with "The pursuit of happiness" in the famous document.
If the word property was left in, taxation and other government theft would not be "Constitutionally" possible without openly exercising tyranny.
Remember, North Korea has a similar "Bill of Rights"

Let the people try to use the power of government to try to take the property of peaceful people.
    Let us see what happens.
I dare say that a vast majority of people will turn them in because they are proud of being good "Law Abiding Citizens".
We will see who our friends and enemies really are.
Let the people of government finally remove the velvet glove from the iron fist that has always been at the foundation of all governments.

There is a lot more to the quote in Thomas Jefferson's "The tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots".
Jefferson was not referring to Briton.
Jefferson was referring to the Federalists in the U. S. Corporate government.
Jefferson knew of the corruption by the Federalists in shoving the prewritten constitution down the throats of the Continental Congress.
It is a shame that Jefferson later embraced that same cloak of tyranny to become the CEO of that government Corporation.

Just do it! Let us just get it over with while I am still alive to watch.
Let us see if we deserve liberty or do we deserve being slaves?
Do those who cheered for Trump now see that he is just another monster in the swamp?

1991? "great" and "Norinco" couldn't truly, accurately be used in the same sentence ... or if written proper like, same paragraph back then. Of course with the passage of time ... and considerable scrutiny, the product line has improved to having achieved a modicum of competitiveness.

I'm thinkin them North Korean folk was beating their plowshares into pistols and rifles to be traded to the Chinese folk for bags of rice that they, themselves was unable to grow. This could all be propaganda (what ain't eh?) but I'm thinkin, I can vaguely recall that I read this somewhere.

It's sad that publisher of the ''Little Red Book'' Home Workshop Firearms for Resistance and Self-defence...Palidin Press is no longer around. I have the entire series, I guess it's time to ban the 1st Amendment too. Ah what the hell we might as well throw the entire Bill of Rights into the trash can.
''... I believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people...are a safeguard to the continuance of a free government...whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast Republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.''- Gen. Robert E. Lee

Heh. Alright, let me re-state it then by saying it was small and lightweight, easy to conceal, never jammed, and was accurate within about 15 yards.

Which is all I ever want out of a pistol. I don't like pistols. I agree with the assessment that a pistol should only ever be used to fight your way to your rifle.

I don't know why we are so surprised by this here, how it could have gone any other way for Trump? All the ruling class had to do is threaten the safety of his family. Trump nor anyone else can do anything to protect their family members 24-7.

Karl Denninger wrote an interesting piece recently concerning door to door gun confiscation. He estimated at least one million would lose their lives attempting to try that. I looked again briefly for the article but I don't see it now, I'll continue to look because he presented some good arguments why that would not go well for them.
