NBC's Chuck Todd: "We're Not Going To Give TV Time To Climate Deniers"

    by Tyler Durden
    Sun, 12/30/2018 - 21:22

NBC host Chuck Todd kicked off a full hour of discussion about Climate change on Sunday by telling "Meet the Press" viewers that there would be no debate over the topic - as the "science is settled."
"We’re not going to debate climate change, the existence of it. The Earth is getting hotter. And human activity is a major cause, period," said Todd. "We’re not going to give time to climate deniers. The science is settled, even if political opinion is not."
Meanwhile, outgoing Democratic California Governor Jerry Brown was on the show to discuss global warming - calling it a serious threat akin to what Americans faced at the beginning of WWII, and that the United States is not doing enough to address the problem.
"[N]ot even close, and not close in California, and we’re doing more than anybody else, and not close in America or the rest of the world," said Brown, adding "We’ve got to get off this idea, ‘it’s the economy, stupid.’ No, it’s the environment."
Brown also knocked President Trump over his skepticism regarding climate change.
"[Trump] is very convinced of his position," said Brown. "And his position is that there’s nothing abnormal about the fires in California or the rising sea level or all the other incidents of climate change."
Former New York City Mayor and potential 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg echoed Brown's sentiment, telling Todd "I will be out there demanding that anybody that’s running has a plan. And I want to hear the plan, and I want everybody to look at it and say whether it’s doable," said the billionaire philanthropist.
As the Daily Caller's Chris White notes:
congressional Democrats are wrestling with a new flock of activist lawmakers who are pushing the party further to the left on climate policies. One of the ideas comingfrom Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Democratic Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York is the Green New Deal.
Sanders, a self-avowed socialist, and Ocasio-Cortez want to move the U.S. to 100-percent green energy, federal job guarantees for workers forced out of their fossil fuel jobs, guaranteed minimum income and universal health care. Analysts warn the Green New Deal could come with a monster price tag.
Eliminating fossil fuels and transitioning to a 100-percent renewable electric grid could cost as much as $5.2 trillion over two decades, according to a 2010 study by the conservative Heritage Foundation. That’s about $218 billion to move the grid away from coal and natural gas. -Daily Caller
Last month Todd was criticized after "Meet the Press" hosted a panelist who denied the existence of climate change.

Good for you, Chuck. I haven't watched your biased propaganda in years. A truth seeking person can see right through your ignorant, childish behavior. It amazes me how you are so afraid to have open debate on so many subjects that are part of your flawed narrative.

If what a person believes is true, they will welcome civil debate.

But libs don’t want to debate. They just want to mock, scorn and troll. If that’s not enough, then they censor, or shadow ban.

It's truly amazing how blind a segment of our population is to truth. Not a big surprise, but thankful the Good Lord made it clear it would be this way, as the fool leans to the left.... His humor is unparralleled in the universe. Thankfully he made it clear thru prophecy as to the upside down inside out world. Just don't neglect to understand how horrible things are about to be...
Educate others to grow our base of informed citizens, it's tyranny. Spread the Gospel.

Prepare wisely individually. An army runs on it's stomach.

Network with those who prepare wisely and take advantage of the strength in numbers and the economy of scale.

Then, when the curtains come down and the truth is evident to an informed citizenry, we unite and fight the new world order.

The problem is their terminology. "Climate change".

Do I believe climate change is happening? Of course. There's a lot of solid evidence it's happening. The earth doesn't remain a static temperature throughout history and it's unlikely it will throughout the future.

Do I believe climate change is man-made? To a degree. We've impacted it some in specific locations through concrete albedo. I think it's convenient for them to claim we're SOLELY responsible so they can enact their controls.

Do I support their solutions to "solve" climate change? Absolutely not. These are all efforts to prop up the ruling elite and keep a boot on everyone else. Rich fatcats with 3 mansions flying around the world in their private jets to tell me I shouldn't run my generator so much.

Look, I am against pollution in all its form. Industrial waste to litter thrown out a car window. I hate it. And it needs to be regulated because many industries have demonstrated they don't care about pollution if it saves them $0.03 per widget.

But I already have the carbon footprint of a 17th century South Sea Islander in my 16'x32' off grid jungle hut. Some fat-cat somewhere deciding to impose a carbon tax on what little gasoline I do buy for the generator just gets my blood to boiling when he's got hot water on demand in his three mansions and a staff of thirty attending to every need plus a private jet on stand-by.

The climate change debate is largely being pushed by people who are intellectually dishonest. Like gun control. Pelosi doesn't care if someone in urban Chicago gets shot with a handgun. She sincerely couldn't care less. She already thinks there's too many poor people anyway. But she's willing to get up their and produce crocodile tears and pretend to care in order to get the guns out of the hands of anyone who might oppose her future plans.
