I was at an auction yesterday. There was piles and piles of hydroponic equipment for sale. This explains that.

It's a market adjustment just like any other boom market has experienced.

I bet when prohibition ended you had tons of brewers and distillers who didn't make the cut before companies like Jack Daniels and Jim Beam emerged.

Every market has its own Darwinism.

What's ironic is that Canada a few hundred miles north just legalized it and they're desperate for supply,
but it's still illegal at the US federal level, and no way would they allow exporting.

    Free market.
    Sort of.

It will be eventually. Right now it's a government cash grab. What you're seeing in Oregon is it got grabbed too hard.

In Hawaii, there's dozens of small time growers on every street who completely ignore any rules and regulations. The Feds come through every couple of months but the local police don't get involved. And the helicopters can't spot 10 or so plants hidden in the jungle. Even more are the people who consume it for recreation or therapy and don't bother to pay the $200 fee for licensing.

It is just a matter of time before CA-OR-WA get their heads together on this. The bigger producers will force that. International borders will probably take longer, although money greases the wheels of bureaucracy eventually. West coast producers will want to get a lock on things in hope of dominating other states as they legalize.

t will be like the Tulip bulb bubble. In ten years there will be maryjuana bushes in every yard, the new kudzu. Eventually it will be viewed as a nuisance, something that only losers care about
