The parallel is in Luke 17... which refers to the "days of Noah"... and also the "days of Lot" where the evildoers continued to buy, sell, build and plant crops until God's fire from heaven destroyed them.

That reminds me of a scene in an old nuclear war movie... I forget the name of the movie.

A farmer in the midwest knows the nukes are about to fly... and is rushing around to get his family and last minute supplies into their underground shelter.

Although his wife also knows what's happening and the time is urgent... she continues to carefully make up the bed in the farmhouse instead of hunkering down in the underground shelter. In other words, she was in denial that her world was about to end forever.

What those Bible verses are telling us... the evildoers in Noah's and Lot's time were not only in denial that God's judgment was hovering over them... they were so clueless they had no reason to even entertain the thought. That's why their society... like ours... was past the point of no return... they were unable to discern good from evil and had no clue they were living in sinful rebellion that would soon bring down God's judgment.

Sinful rebellion goes much deeper than reckless immorality.

    Therein lies the greatest deception.

Thise who marry the state, pray to the state, accept benefits from the table of state, pay into the state’s destructive resource pool, register their God-given children with state, in any wise live by state-issued license (licentiousness)
rather than by the raw tenets of God-given rights (righteousness).....are not walking in obedience to Father.

Be careful what you pray/wish for.
