If there’s anyone left in America who actually believes Democratic Party leaders are interested in constructive dialogue with President Trump on substantive policy issues like infrastructure, I have a Russian conspiracy theory to sell them.

When Trump cut short a meeting Wednesday with Democratic leaders on a potential infrastructure deal, liberals and their media allies had found their ginned-up outrage of the week. An allegedly irate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed that she and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer had come to the White House in the “spirit of bipartisanship,” only to be rebuffed.

This, only hours after Pelosi had accused the president of engaging in a criminal “coverup.”

According to media reports, Trump walked in without “sitting down or shaking hands,” and told those assembled that while he’s willing to work on infrastructure deals, trade agreements and farm bills, it’s going to be impossible if Pelosi keeps accusing him of criminality and supporting perpetual trolling expeditions in Congress.

And then, in Trumpian fashion, the president headed to the Rose Garden to meet the press and demanded Democrats “get these phony investigations over with.”

Now, when we consider that the entire agenda of congressional Democrats is to investigate an already completed special counsel inquiry that had cleared the president of conspiratorial charges that had been propagated by his opposition for two years, it seems unlikely Pelosi will heed Trump’s demand.

Earlier in day, in fact, Pelosi had met with her caucus on the issue of impeachment. Though Pelosi called the summit a “respectful sharing of ideas,” she reportedly cautioned her members about the potential political disadvantages of an impeachment.

Still, Pelosi felt compelled to placate fellow Democrats. “We believe the president of the United States is engaged in a coverup,” she told the world after the meeting. “We believe that no one is above the law, including the president of the United States.”

Perhaps one day the political pressure will become too much to stop impeachment. As of now, however, why would Pelosi have any interest in moving forward with a costly and precarious process when she can prosecute a political impeachment through forever investigations buttressed by a pliant media that adopts every narrative she offers?

“To watch what happened in the White House would make your jaw drop,” Schumer told reporters. “It’s clear this was not a spontaneous move on the president’s part. It was planned.”

It’s plausible that Trump, a showman, staged the walkout to exert pressure on Democrats. So what? Pelosi knew exactly what she was doing having a meeting about impeachment in the morning and then walking over to the Oval Office to play faux nice — having her cake and eating it, too.

Don’t buy that Pelosi and Schumer are outraged. They’re loving the status quo. It allows them to use congressional oversight investigations as a cudgel to push for a sham public impeachment, undermining Trump’s political agenda. When useful, however, they can also demand Trump meet with them in good faith to hash out deals their party finds useful. There is absolutely no reason for the president to play along.

Technically, POTUS is engaged in a "coverup" because if the American people actually knew the depth and breadth of Democrat treason there'd be an uprising.
But I'm still looking forward to the declassifications = the Truth needs to be told.

Trump plays Chuckie and San Fran Nan for chumps every time they meet.

They are not used to opposition.
