    Default Iran seized British Tanker

Not a big war hawk but I think Trump needs to get in touch with England and offer to help them militarily..
Time to stop letting them get away with murder.

I have a hard time believing that the british would allow one of their tankers to navigate in that area without a military escort
if they did they were either looking for trouble or negligent

Iran says it seized British oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz

    July 19, 2019

" Tehran, Iran Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it has seized British oil tanker, the Stena Impero, in the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement comes one day after the U.S. said it destroyed an Iranian drone.

The military branch said the tanker over "non-compliance with international maritime laws and regulations" and has transferred the vessel to an Iranian port.

The company that owns the tanker, Stena Bulk and Northern Marine Management, said the vessel was approached by unidentified small crafts and a helicopter on Wednesday. "We are presently unable to contact the vessel which is now heading north towards Iran," the company said in a statement.

There are 23 people aboard the tanker and no reported injuries, the company said.

One U.K. official told CBS News that the incident "is being discussed at the highest levels."

"We are urgently seeking further information and assessing the situation following reports of an incident in the Gulf," a U.K. government spokesperson added.

U.K. Chamber of Shipping CEO Bob Sanguinetti said the seizure represents an escalation in tensions in the Persian Gulf that makes it clear more protection for merchant vessels is urgently needed.

Sanguinetti said Friday the action is "in violation of international regulations which protect ships and their crews as they go about their legitimate business in international waters."

He called on the British government to do "whatever is necessary" to ensure the safe and swift return of the ship's crew.

Garrett Marquis, a spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, issued a statement reaffirming U.S. support for the U.K. in the wake of the seizure and noting that "this is the second time in just over a week the U.K. has been the target of escalatory violence."

Last week, three Iranian boats attempted to block the British Heritage tanker from entering the Strait of Hormuz. The tanker was being escorted by the British warship HMS Montrose.

Didn't the British seize an Iranian tanker going about its legitimate business a few weeks ago?
If the report is true, it looks like a case of tit for tat.
There are no international waters in the in the Strait of Hormuz.
The recognized Iranian territorial ocean limits overlap with the UAE.

When the British release the Iranian ship, I am sure the Iranians will release the British ship.
The U. S. Corporation is provoking this war.
The people that are in control of this country have been involved in provoking every war since the middle of the
French and Indian wars when George Washington shot a French ambassador coming down from Canada.
My source is "American Aurora" which was largely about Adams attacks on the Philadelphia Aurora paper.
The U. S. Corporation was starving Japan of its oil resources to provoke their attack on Pearl Harbor.
The U. S. Corporation has no legitimate right to force its will on any other country.
    U. S. Corporate military ships are about 8000 miles out of its territorial limits.

“#BREAKING: State media of #Iran's Islamic Regime claims that the #IRGC Navy has released the #UK owned #Mesdar Oil Tanker which had been stopped in #PersianGulf.”

Well, they still have one ship, plus they have possibly stopped a couple more.

These are not U.S. registered vessels.

For the past 2 1/2 days I've been cruising the "news" sources related to this piracy and damn near every article wants to know what the U.S. is going to do about protecting vessels in the Strait of Hormuz....I mean, shouldn't the U.S. be standing by to support the countries who's vessels are being seized (Intl. Piracy, btw). Keeping the Strait open is not vital to our national interests. Is it?

... peace is in "our" best national interests, in everyone's best interests!

Peace without threats or intimidation tactics, without occupying forces ... minding our own fuc&ing bidness would have been a real good start. "Wee" been meddling in Iran's affairs since at least ww2.

Too late for any of this though ... we're on our way.
