God wants us, with a willing heart, to reach into our pockets and help those who are truly in need. Social welfare is pointing a gun at someone and reaching into their pockets to redistribute wealth.

I view your statements about like I do most preachers. It is always their "interpretation" of what the Bible states.

"Social welfare" wasn't even a concept that far back, so don't try to quote it being such.

Charity, and caring for your fellow man was what is written. But also it is written to see to your own family and house first, before all others.

Just so we will be on the same wavelength in our discussion, would you share your definition of "social welfare"?

I already posted two Biblical examples... and you already posted your secular response.

Seek to understand the word and translation of corban, as it was referenced by Messiah in the NT.

Why did He claim that corban “made the Law to none effect”?

Jesus referred to the "traditions of the elders" that made God's laws to none effect... meaning the Edomite-jews and their toadies had substituted human traditions in place of God's Biblical laws.

Ironically, that is exactly what most "Christians" do today !!

It is no coincidence that this evil end of the age parallels the evil world order that existed during the first coming of Christ.

I just asked because "social welfare" is a secular term not found in the Bible.

    And I specifically referenced corban.

    Corban
was (is?) the system whereby, upon “paying a small tax” ones parents would be looked after in their infirmity, thus relieving the sons and daughters the burden of physically manifesting the commandment referenced in Exodus 20:12.....which had long since been a “tradition of the elders”.

No wonder so many find themselves removed from the land, today.
