The maximum FICA is (I think) about $8k a year. Let's say you worked and paid in to FICA for 30 years. Would you accept a one time check of $240k to end the system? Or let's say $120k?

We pay dearly for ALL their entitlement programs, only this one they tricked you into thinking they'd hold your money for you and give it back when you needed it.

They're not holding your money. Your money is spent and gone. They are stealing from younger workers to give you a small percentage of what they took from you.

Ah yes the doom and gloomers are back at it once again. SS is not going anywhere, nor will it crash and burn either. It is written into law that SS will be paid out no matter what. And sure glad I am collecting since I was 54. and now closing in on 70 I will collect way more then I paid in thanks to those that are working and paying in. Nobody is going to cut SS much less let it go bang. Just like the doom and gloomers of old nobody is pushing Grandma off the cliff either. We have a provision in our State Constitution that says you may not default on State pension benefits, and to a tee, ALL of those Politicians regurgitate the line.................while more and more taxpayers move out of the state.
