Default Any honest debt numbers available?

It's no secret that government vastly understands their debt, but what about consumers and businesses? Here's what sparked my curiosity.

A couple in their late 30s escaped from the People's Republic of Noo Yawk in March to stay with their parents (my friends) in the rural Midwest. The couple had both been laid off and had to make repeated daily unsuccessful attempts to finally get their unemployment. Both of them had jobs that paid ordinary salaries. Despite their marginal finances, the couple bought a $15,000 late model used car on payments before returning east.

What credit union, bank or other lender would be crazy enough to fork over the money? Sadly, this is hardly a rare situation.

the Fed opened the flood gates, trillions have come and more on the way.The money must be spent if it is to prop up the economy enough to fend off a depression.
i wouldn't be surprised to see the mortgage industry follow suit with the fed's blessing.
