Look into “stinging nettle” (urtica).
The stuff is up to 50% protein when dried, and loaded with minerals.
Now is a great time to collect (pruning shears and gloves) and dry all you can find for winter soups and hot tea.
Nettle is one of the first herbs to poke through in late winter/early spring, and can be steamed or sautéed, or used in soups fresh.
Dry some and put it in front of your cows and see what happens.
Then look into the other billion and a half edible wild plant species that grow in your area.....
