Kyle had possession, therefore the weapon was transferred.
And besides in WI you do not need a transferring document in dealing with firearms, selling or giving the rifle to another person. So when Kyle accepted to take the rifle that from that friend it was a done deal~~!

I'm not a lawyer... etc. But think some of yall are confusing possession with ownership. The firearm never changed owners and is now in the possession of the original owner/police so will be returned to the original owner. (or not). Loaning a weapon for even an extended period of time is not a crime. Liability when that weapon is used in some one else's possession is another argument however transferring a weapon is the question on the table. Did Not Happen. Find the law that holds the owner responsible in this case and come back to the table. That on it's face is unconstitutional aside from whether the shooting was self defense, but you are welcome to attempt to prove intent on the part of the loaner if you so choose. Good luck with that.
