Fox Fire 5.
I am reading Fox Fire 5, as it denotes the 5th in the series old time Appalachian folk ways. On pages 246-248 there is a recepiet for home made Black Powder. In fact most of it's 500 or so pages is devoted to Old Time manufacturing of Flintlocks, Iron Making, Blacksmithing, Making flints and so on. A good book to have.
Also I was reading Eric Sloane's book of Do's and Dont's of yesteryear, A treasury of Early American Folk Wisdoms, and on page 48 is a simple recepeit for making gun powder.
Now you will have to get copy's. This is for information only. Don't wan't Ol'Shotgun mad at me cause some side stepped the 2nd Amendment by using the first.
''... I believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people...are a safeguard to the continuance of a free government...whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast Republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.''- Gen. Robert E. Lee
