No more paying cash to get on the ILL toll ways.
CHICAGO (AP) - The days of paying cash on the Illinois Tollway are gone forever. The tollway announced Thursday it’s permanently eliminating cash toll collections and will accept only I-Pass, E-ZPass or online payments.
Customers unable to pay online can pay by check or money order.

I don't believe in coincidence. I Just got back from our local grocery store. They are only able to accept cash. They cannot take debit cards, credit cards, checks, EBT/Snap or any other electronic payment. If you need anything, it is cash only. They have been down since about 11am this morning. I asked a manager how widespread the outage is and he said the the map is showing the east coast has been hit pretty hard and it looks like it is moving westward. It was beginning to affect Phoenix at about 3:30 pm.

Electronic payment systems were not fully restored until about 8 or 9 pm last night.
It's possible that there is a serious problem considering the fact that the banking system had serious problems on Wednesday and many retailers were unable to process payments yesterday.
I would advise having a fair amount of cash on hand or, if you can't, buy what you think you will need in case a worse problem arises with cashless payments.
