In the late 1920' there was a banker magazine called AMERICAN BANKING CONGRESS that was advising member banks to conserve their capital, because soon credit will be much reduced allowing the member banks to foreclose on industries, farms, businesses etc. Small banks were wrecked, and the Big ones got rid of or got control of many businesses that were not "cooperating". Between 1930 & 1940 USA's population declined 7 million people.
Something similar is now happening, and for the "uncooperative" they won't be able to buy or sell.
As for Hoppalong, He is not harming anyone that I know of. The super rich war mongers get vast amounts of welfare, subsidies and loot, and cause vast amounts of harm to millions of people. Hoppalong is simply getting some benefits too.
In a way, He is helping to expose the super rich guys.
Hoppalong is being practical. The super Rich have already told everyone, "Soon you own nothing and like it."
Hoppalong is ahead of the game.
