    Default Self rising flour?

My wife found 2# bags of self rising flour for $.50 at our Big Lots.
They had 7 so I told her to get them all and we would figure out what to do with them

So what do you or don't you do with self rising flour?

    Thanks

Essentially, you will want to use it in cakes and cookies (not yeast bread). It contains baking powder and salt... so omit those ingredients where called for in your recipe...

However, if they're really OLD bags, their baking powder may be old, too... in which case, just cut out the salt and add the baking powder called for. (try it in biscuits first... if they don't rise well, it's old enough you'll have to add baking powder anyway)

    Thanks, ST

Can't find a date but wouldn't know if it was too old by date anyhow?

I did go to Betty Crocker and found some good recipes to try.
Think I'll try Pinwheel Apple Cobbler tonight
