It is a novelty here HOWEVER if you called them hot pockets they'd no longer be a novelty~

Hi Jubilee, Yes I have been making them for about 45 years or so. I used to put them in my kids lunch pails and they loved them. I never made enough to freeze though and they were all eaten up with a couple of days. Micah, you will love them too. Thanks for sharing Jubilee, I haven't made them in a long time now. AL

I like the ones they sell in Cornwall, but I suspect they are pretty much the same. The Cornish ones are often sold in carts by the roadside and they are huge! I could not finish the ones I got, so its better to share with a friend unless you are really hungry.

Finally got around to making these today - they were delicious!

I used plain old ground beef (didn't have sirloin) and I had to use fresh Kohlrabi instead of rutabaga (we didn't plant any rutabaga this year) and I added a bit of chopped cabbage because I have cabbage the size of basketballs coming out of the garden.

They were a huge hit! Everyone liked them, so thanks for the recipe and I apologize for changing it a bit - but it's nice to know it works with what you have on hand, too!

that's all that matters is if you have stuff to put in it, and the family likes and eats it.

Yum!!! I usually don't make them in the summer -- too heavy for these warm evenings. But now you're making me crave one!!! LOL

I always thought they'd be good with a mincemeat type stuffing, but I've never been brave enough to try that.

    Glad you enjoyed!!!

We eat our big meal at noon, year round, and my farmer husband needs lots of calories to keep going. Sandwiches are snacks - not food.
