Today, I trimmed a bunch of grass, wishing there was none! In addition, picked a large bowl of Sugar Peas, bunch of Kale, Blood Veined Sorrel, Raspberries, Strawberries, Marionberries, harvested potatoes, weeded a raised bed, cut down numerous thistles, cut back Blackberry vines, and pulled up a lot of noxious type weeds. A short while ago, I froze the Raspberries, made a Kefir Smoothie, tucked the leftover Kale in the fridge, and will soon prepare the Sorrel for a dish tomorrow. Each day, I am harvesting more than we can eat and am now preparing to dehydrate, freeze, or can. We have the dirt work done for the Root Cellar, and hope to begin building it soon. The interior will be 10 X 16 (or a little bigger) with 2 rooms. It will be in a hillside, built of rebar reinforced concrete. My gardening this year was planned in advance, taking into consideration having this Root Cellar to preserve veggies, Garlic, and fruit from our Orchard.
