Default Looking for a coconut candy recipe

My aunt used to make them, but the recipe apparently died with her. She called them coconut haystacks, but they did not have chocolate in them. They were an off-white sugary/creamy candy that you boiled and then dropped on a greased cookie sheet and let cool, and they had finely shredded coconut in them.

Any ideas?

Does this sound similar? Says shape into cones and put on wax paper, but I'm sure dropping from a spoon on a greased sheet would work equally well, probably go faster, which is always good in my book. Source: http://www.recipezaar.com/Coconut-Haystacks-2130

Coconut Haystacks

3/4 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups coconut, shredded

In heavy 2 quart saucepan cook and stir over low heat the milk, sugar and corn syrup until the sugar dissolves.

Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often, until candy reaches soft ball stage. Remove from heat, stir in the butter, stir then add coconut and mix well.

Shape into cones about 1 1/2 inches high.

Place on waxed paper to cool.

If this recipe isn't the one you are looking for, you can also go to allrecipes.com, go to ingredient search and enter ingredient you want, coconut, and enter ingredient you don't want, chocolate. You might get some returns on that. Let us know how it turns out. I love coconut!!
