If the Federal Government got out of healthcare altogether, when the dust settled, we would all be much better off. The free market trumps government every time. Pun intended.

I disagree that Bailouts will be required. But then again, I have no trouble saying - NO.
No bailouts and let them go TU. They helped write this disaster, they wanted this disaster, now let them sink with this disaster. If they go away it will just make room for some new upstart company to take their place and maybe have a better business model.

Sen Cotton says he doesn't want to vote for O-care repeal without specifying a replacement plan. Calls repeal/delay "kick the can"

    This ^^^^

As much as I detest greedy Anthem-Blue Cross, I think they will emerge from this as a major player. I have to admire the fact that they have survived this debacle against some steep odds.

I imagine there are members of the Democrat Party who wish they could have seen the details of Obama's plan before they voted for it.

They could have studied RomneyCare, they're pretty much the same, both are based on private insurers and buying on exchanges. In fact the individual mandate came from the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. Republicans were talking about something similar to Obamacare in the 90s:

My position is, it is not the government's job to provide anyone with healthcare. It is a personal responsibility.

    100% agree.

    Get rid of it. Now.

    How?

De-regulate the industry to allow cross border competition.

Impose a medical procedure transparency mandate that would let us shop around for medical care at fully disclosed prices.

People with 0care now, have 12 months to find a new policy. Then they're phased out. If they are covered now, require waiver of pre-existing
    conditions barriers, just this once.

Let the free-market run with it. It always works when it's tried.
Careful...the older I get, the less "life sentence" is a deterrent.
