Default Muslim Prince Spends $450 Million On A Painting Of Jesus

"Salvator Mundi," an ethereal portrait of Jesus Christ which dates to about 1500, the last privately owned Leonardo da Vinci painting, is on display for the media at Christie's auction in New York, NY, U.S., October 10, 2017. (Photo: Courtesy Christie’s New York/Handout via REUTERS)

A Saudi Arabian prince is the mysterious buyer who paid a record-breaking $450.3 million for Leonardo da Vinci’s painting of Jesus Christ.
Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan al-Saud was recently discovered to be the buyer of da Vinci’s painting “Salvator Mundi,” The New York Times reports.
Prince Badar’s purchase of the image of Christ comes at a time when elite Saudi’s are highly concerned about an ongoing “purge” of influential national figures at the bequest of the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman. Badar is reportedly a close friend and confidant of the crown prince, who is already well-known for making extravagant purchases well into the hundreds of millions.
Badar was reportedly so unknown to Christie’s — the auction house in New York City that sold the painting — that the officials at the art house were still trying to confirm the prince’s identity even after he made a $100 million deposit to qualify for the auction.
Badar’s purchase is interesting for a host of reasons. Muslims do not consider Jesus a savior, but rather they believe he was a prophet. The majority of Muslims also believe that depicting any religious prophet is sacrilegious.

Akin to Christianity, Islam is not monolithic, between sects, regarding Jesus. Many do believe Jesus to be the messiah, but what that means even differs. Some think he will return, and some believe that one in his typology will come into the scene. Like Christians used to do, Muslims still kill one another over those differences. And like Christians still do, Muslims who believe one thing about Jesus or the interpretation of Quran claim that the others are not true muslums.
But what weapons can you use to dispossess someone who will not accept anything except Holy Scripture interpreted according to his own rules?...Where Lutheranism reigns, learning dies. They seek only two things: good pay and a wife. The gospel offers them the rest — that is, the power of living as they please.

I understand now how Arius and Tertullian and Wickliff were driven into schism by malicious clergy and wicked monks.

Muslims believe in their "book of revelations" that Jesus will come back and kill all of the Christians by sword for following himself instead of muhammed. So yes Jesus is in the quran but, being it's muslim, it all gets screwed up somewhere.

Silly muslim, that is not a portrait of Jesus (He never sat for no portrait) but of Marco Polo's great great grandson ... notice the European facial features.

The only things we know about our Lord's physical appearance from the scriptures are, he wasn't good looking and he had a beard. That's it.

That portrait looks too feminine for my taste. One thing Jesus was not, and that's a feminized male.

    Revelation 14:7
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
"not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
