Ahem. Two people are being let go at the top. Trump will nominate replacements, and their current subordinates will fill the roles until that is complete. Quit with the histrionics.
"See, in the last few years...we've stumbled... And when you stumble a lot, you...you start looking at your feet. We have to make people...lift their eyes back to the horizon and see the line of ancestors behind us saying, 'Make my life have meaning.' And to our inheritors before us saying, 'Create the world we will live in.' I mean, we're not just holding jobs and having dinner. We are in the process of building the future."

“There are scores more appointees within the department,” our source
told us. “Secretarial and administration appointments that don’t require
Senate confirmation, mostly performing policy, liaison, and strategic
advisory capacities in support of the agency they’re at. They serve at
the will of the head of their agency. Those people are, theoretically,
also out on inauguration day unless otherwise directed, which hasn’t
    happened yet to my knowledge.”

The department isn't being generally disbanded, the administrative roles WILL be filled. As with any government department, no matter how it came into existence, it has copious amounts of staff to keep it running until reorganized. Again, stop inflating this.
