Last week a person I know, who is very reliable, said their meat supplier (a processor) posted a notice that meat prices are going to triple in two weeks. Today someone stated the workers in the meat department of a local supermarket told him that they were almost out of meat and more than likely would be in a few days.

Larger meat packers in our area (midwest general) can’t keep enough help for processing.

This supposed perfect storm was probably created by some think tank somewhere.
Any loss of life is down to our fearless leaders .
I suffer govt and lead a simple life, it is getting harder each day to justify my decision.

Lies once again. And my store has plenty of meat, expensive meat, but no shortage at all.....
Cattle prices have been pretty stable for months now. Pigs on the other hand have doubled in price from around $64 a hundred weight, to now over $112 a hundred weight. And the hog barn that I used to live by is operating at full capacity. AT 2500 sows.
