Default strange color/texture on chicken egg...

Whitish circles on the brown egg...looks like calcium deposits? Is everything okay with our chicken?

Most probably. Wait till you get one with no shell at all, just heavy membrane or a shell that has "ripples" on it or dark brown "freckles." Makes gathering each day an adventure!

True...lol. We've had shellless eggs already. This one with rings on it was just weird.

Some of the eggs I get from my Amish folks can be interesting .... often the egg (not the shell) will have an iridescent hue .... as if it might glow in the dark.

When our hens first started laying, we'd get what we call "dino eggs" periodically...eggs literally twice the size of normal eggs, with rippled, extra-thick shells, double-yolkers too. They were huge!

When our girls first started laying we got an egg with those faint rings. We've had normal eggs since-well mostly-some every once in a while are speckled-probably depends on what they ate that day? LOL!
