I went to reddit politics the other day and lurked awhile ,,then signed up. I was literally amazed at the number of folks who think this administration is right wing. Most believe the major networks are all under the control of rich conservative old white guys.

While a long way from right wing, a lot of progressives are disappointed that the president that they supported didn't even push for a progressive health care system (single payer) but instead went for a plan developed by conservatives at the Heritage Foundation.

the corporations that run media do so for a profit and their agenda probably has nothing to do with the rights of the common man,there is profit in pandering to govt for legal favors across all enterprise--since megacorps are fairly diversified.
