No problem Meemur, I'm the same way. I use the internet to come here, Facebook (I'm a member of a group on their that is centered on the same thing as here and family and friends talk about politics, prepping, ect...), browse for prep items and doing research.

What attracted me to look into the deepweb was the talk that it as an ungoverned part of cyberspace that could be used in the event of mass DNS/search engine takedown by the US government.

As well as Tor, which provides encryption for the data that passes over it's nods. This enables the use of applications like TorChat, OrbWeb, ect... Tor even has application for Android devices to help keep you anonymous via mobile.

After my visits to the deepweb, I decided it wasn't something that could be use, maybe eventually if something prohibited access to the "Clearnet".

It's rare but I visit 4chan on occasion they have a section called /tech/ that has more in formation in technology than any site I've ever seen. You can post a problem with a device and near instantly someone posts a reply with some advice or a way to fix it.

I have a Regency CR-142 CB transreceiver I got some greats tips for, but I did get some great tips here as well.

Same can be said for 420chan, I was advised by someone to check out their Academic boards section which has sections on Programming/Coding, Technology, Math & Science, Botany, Medicine & Health, Weapons, ect...

Both 4chan and 420chan have Prepping, Conspiracy Theory and Post-Apocalypse boards. Just stay away from /b/, /s/ and all the other boards if you visit 4chan or 420chan and you'll most likely never run into anything sickening or scaring.

you probably should look at their history before you jump to that conclusion.. anonymous has been around for over a decade now.. they were spawned from the disdain of Scientology, when that battle was largely won, especially in europe, they moved on to bigger and better things..
Just like the Tea Party movement consisted of grassroots constitutionalists AND Republican party co-opters, I see no reason that Anonymous couldn't be made up of more than one faction.

I'll buy that. Good analogy to the Tea Party.

Most nobody wants to know. I promise.

I know, and wish I didn't; it requires gallons of mind bleach.

I'm sure that has crossed a lot of minds. Would be perfect timing for a lot of underhandedness to go on to the next step.

Wonder if they could hack the chip in zeros head? LOL

Anonymous hacked the Steel Soldiers forum. They sent out emails to all the members calling them cowards. A bunch of guys that like to drive old green trucks. Anonymous are scum.

Man you all, after reading all of this deep-web stuff, I'm seriously creeped out. But I have wondered, in a morbid kind of way, where all of that nasty stuff is and how people go there and \ get themselves in trouble.

What is b/c/? ...(or whatever that was)

/b/ is the "Random" form on 4chan. Look at the top of the page, you see the different boards.

I haven't tried it, but it looks like if you want to know a web sites IP address instead of just the name, there is a way to do it. This site seems to explain it for anyone who is concerned about the servers going down. It appears that you first have to drop to DOS and 'ping' the web site of your choice. Apparently this works for most, but not all web sites.

It's one of those things where the saying "Peter Rabbit would be wise to stay out of Mr. McGregor's garden" is absolutely true.

    Don't go looking.
