California Prop 37 GMO labelling Turns into Major Fight

Corporations opposed to California's Prop 37 which requires labelling of GMO ingredients in food products have donated more than $34 Million to defeat the measure which could have nationwide implications in terms of food labelling and packaging.
According to KCET's election 2012 site and other sources the companies/grups leading the charge in favor of Prop 37 are

    • Consumers Union
    • Sierra Club
    • Organic Consumers Fund
    • Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps
    • Nature's Path Foods
    • Lundberg Family Farms

And those most strongly against it are:

    • Monsanto donated over $7million to fight
    • DuPont
    • BASF
    • DOW
    • Council for Biotechnology Information
    • Grocery Manufacturers Association
    • PepsiCo
    • Coca-Cola
    • Kellogg Company

More info is available from the Cornucopia Institute

Me thinks they protest too much
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.

This makes a handy boycott list. We do have the power and the pocketbook to put these corporate eugenicist thugs out of business. Most of these players are manufacturers of heavily processed crack food that I automatically eliminate anyway. Except Land of Lakes for Light Butter due to canola oil I'm sure, which is now on my boycott list. Middle finger salute to all of them . I hope they die a miserable bankrupt death.

    Cool

    Here's some interesting work.

Its good to know what brands to boycott because the USDA Organic Label allows up to 5 percent by weight non-organic and if my memory is correct can also substitute non-organic if only "conventional" is available.

I like Nature Paths slogan "A company run by parents, not a parent company".

Big Industry is sneaky, it helps to know your brands.
