can anyone imagine what it would be like to drive one of those little cars on snow and ice covered roads. Some people would just get stuck everywhere. Others would be killed as not only would these vehicles not hold the road, but impacts to them would be often fatal. This a total no go for northern states. And imagine having to hire someone to bring to your house whatever things you buy because there is no space in them to transport much of anything.

Ahem, there is a certain somebody who doesn't find it unnerving that farm animals are rfid'ed also.

Yes, the evil gas guzzlers must be forced to use public transportation so that the govt. can control your travel so that you won't leave a carbon footprint on mother earth. Talk to dah Obama in chief about his "Beast" and let him drive a trolley.

Reluctant, you are somewhat inaccurate as to small cars and winter. 30 odd years ago I changed from a B-30 van to a Ford Fiesta, front wheel drive and that thing was SUPERB in the snow. WAY better than the Chrysler 300 my family had. front wheel drive AT THE TIME was a novelty reserved for Saab's, Toronado's, and little cars. they will perform FINE in the snow. (My experience with them is in FAR Upstate NY, where the nearest large town was Montreal or Ottawa with Syracuse farther than either of them. Yes we got snow up there and -60 F in winters.)

I live around much snow. There is a point that you reach when going smaller is not better. Imagine trying to drive down the road on your lawn mower with 6 inches of snow on the road. That is the scale that we are talking about here. Even ATV's get stuck in that much snow.

Hubby has an old 88 Ford PU Trk.... he'll keep that till the day he dies. It has hardly ever needed repairs and runs like a champ. Granted it is not one of the giant monster trucks, doesn't have an extended cab and the paint is chipping away (still no rust) but it is loved. We'll keep it and someday people will be begging us with gas money to help them move, etc.

There might be a provision in the future where an exemption would be made if it is used as work truck carrying loads. We'd be willing to register as that just to keep using it. But the bottom line is, why should we have to?

You shouldn't have to, in the land of the free.

try living in KY-the personal property tax state-we pay at least 6% yearly (depending on how much county & city add on-plus schools, library, health dept) per vehicle. the newer it is the more expensive it is-last year cost us almost $1200 for a yearly sticker to go on 2 cars & 1 truck tags. this state taxes then taxes more and more and more...and Im not even going to talk about our property taxes on our home we have lived all over first with hubby in the Marine Corps and now with his job, this is by far the most expensive state tax wise that we have lived in-including his way overtaxed paycheck but thats another post

Acts 9:10-12

In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, "Ananias!" "Yes, Lord," he answered. The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight."

That's the whole idea. They don't want you to raise your own food and be independent. They want you to live in the city with all the other sheeple and be happy/dependent on what the government says you should have. Independent minded people scare them.
